Hello friend

thanks for your enquiry.do you have a micro sd card?if you have, pls do it
like this step how to change the date on pc.

First:on pc,open TAG.TXT, write synchronous date according to enclosure
strictly.

Details as following:

[date]

2009/07/22

12:00:00

then save the TAG.TXT file, and close the TAG.TXT file,

second:connect the camera(within micro sd card) to pc,pc will find the
micro sd card(better format the micro sd card),then copy this TAG.TXT file
to micro sd card, then disconnect the camera(within micro sd card) from pc
and power off the camera.

after this step, the date set do well. When connect the camera with computer,
whose time will be displayed with computer synchronously. hope you use it
easy.

have a good day.

Right - that's how it worked on the gumstick camera I got, but that's the
only one. I suspect all the ones with the date stamp have some means
(doesn't makes sense otherwise) the GearCam DVR has a small utility that
will do it.

Evidently they don't all work exactly the same. Some people have gotten
it to work by putting the file on the memory card, turning the camera
on, and recording. It should change the date and the file will disappear
from the card.

Do you have a memory card in it? I noticed it doesn't show up without one.

I got mine in the mail today and am filtering through the "Engrish".

Sooooo, how do you get a Mac to recognize this thing and DL the files?

The thing pops up as an "USB Camera" in the "More Info" section of
"About this Mac", but won't mount as a drive or DL in Image Capture.

I don't know if all these work the same but the one I just got (the case
looks like a Bic lighter) tells you to put a file named time.txt in the
root directory with the current date and time (yyyy.mm.dd.hh.mm.ss).
Then record, turn it off and then on again.

I just got one of the of those key chain cameras for 15 bucks on eBay. It
doesn't have any memory. You have to get a micro SD card for it. I got a 4 GB
SDHC card for ten bucks. That's a $25.00 investment. So far this thing has blown
me away. Great picture and sound. It's so light, without the chain, that I think
I can incorporate it in a boost glider. Maybe one of the large Edmond's kits.
I'll post a You Tube video sometime comparing it to the multipod. It's suppose
to be a Christmas gift. But I check it out briefly to make sure it worked. Now
if anyone get one of these things from eBay, it will take about 3 to 4 weeks
before you get it. It comes from Hong Kong. The instruction manual that comes
with it is very vague. If it was more vague it would be a blank piece of paper.
The camera operates very easy. It saves video into avi format so you don't have
to have any special software to see it. But the camera does super impose a date
on the bottom of the
screen. The manual does not state how to change the date. Anyway I'm sure after
more people buy these things, we'll see some things appear to help enhance the
performance of this device.

I bought an Oracle cheap, but my laptop runs Vista. From what I've read the
software isn't Vista compatible. Is this true ? My laptop's at work so I can't
try to install it until Monday, but I was wondering if you could set it to run
in Windows in XP compatiblity mode and get it to work. Any ideas or help
appreciated. If it's true it just won't work, I guess I'll have to buy a used XP
laptop.

It fits in a BT-50. Mine was mounted in a clear plastic tube with an
engine block at the bottom and a nose cone on top. The tube is taped to
the side of the rocket. The tube didn't need to be clear but I thought
I'd be able to see the LED through the tube. It turns out that it's much
easier to turn it on outside the rocket and just slide it into the tube.
At the end of the video you can see me pushing the camera out with a
dowel. I'm sure I can come up with a better mount. I just slapped that
together so I could get a couple of flights in before the end of the
flying season.

Haven't worked with the X-10 system in a number of years - all the new solid
state camera systems pretty much have taken over for me.

I'm sure you've seen the tech notes I posted on my site.

I don't think better power is going to improve the X-10 performance - the
receiving antenna is probably the most important thing to improve, getting
one with a higher DB will do a lot to improve your range - but even with
that you'll get roll drop outs.

Aloha Vidroc,

I'm looking for a DC-DC power converter to add to my X10 setup, but I'm not
sure what to buy. Can someone help me out with a link or what specs to look
for in a device like this.

I've been flying my X10 video rockets on just a 9V battery and I hope to get
better performance with with the correct voltage.

Many thanks,

will fill in a record session.

Is TF the same as MicroSD? If so, that might be a pretty good deal.

So I got one of these keychain video camera systems and it's pretty

You do need to add your own memory card - so far my tests seem to indicate
it'll record for a full half hour 720X480 @ 30fps.

Very cool.

I do seem to have gotten a bargain but if you check some of the other

If your search for "lighter spy cam" you'll find two pages of them at

I have my doubts about the 30 fps too but it may be because I've gotten
used to the 60 fps of the Aiptek.

Here's a picture of it with the lens:

and the eBay link:

If your search for "lighter spy cam" you'll find two pages of them at
varying prices.

I have my doubts about the 30 fps too but it may be because I've gotten
used to the 60 fps of the Aiptek.

Yeah, the hang time on that was impressive!

The video cuts off before it gets to the picture of the camera - the capture
looks pretty good but it doesn't look like 30fps.

Can you post a link to the camera on eBay?

I bought one of those small video cameras on eBay. This one is made to look
like a Bic lighter, costs $20 including shipping from Hong Kong and claims
to have 1280 x 960 resolution at 30 fps. There's a picture of the camera at
the end of the video. It was mounted in a clear tube taped to the side of a
rocket. I added a wide angle cellphone add on lens that I read about here.
The video isn't as good as my Aiptek HD but it cost about 1/6. Here's the
video:

I think a could have used a smaller chute.

From the XPRS 2009 launch - this is the footage from inside the Mercury Joe
Capsule using the Grayson Hobby's Aerial Cam fitting with a wide angle lens.

The altitude readout is simulated based on known events and maximum
altitude.

Thought it would be interesting to composite four different views from the
XPRS flight together.

.and it was - the capsule footage (that I plan to post separately shortly)
shows a unique view of the cockpit - the camera moves around because it's
basically sitting in Joe's lap, held in place by his legs. A strap on his
suit shows the negative Gs from the point of motor burn out - what surprises
me it how much longer it lasts even after capsule separation @ 13 seconds.

A bulk of the footage is the decent to the playa - can you guess what lands
first? ;-)

Interesting too, after the capsule lands, there must have been quite the
gust of wind as it gets dragged for a short distance.

Here's a video of the GearCam taped (with masking tape!) to an Estes Liquidator.

For some reason I can hear the audio on the YouTube page but not on Quicktime on
my own computer!

[Please forgive the intrusion, this will be a one time announcement]

Last month I was looking for an HPR group here. The only one I found had been
taken over by spammers after being abandoned by the owner. I contacted yahoo
groups management but they have refused to help.

So I've created a new group, and would like to let folks know about it:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HighPowerRocketry/

and the appropriate email addresses are

Post message: HighPowerRocketry@yahoogroups.com
Subscribe: HighPowerRocketry-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
Unsubscribe: HighPowerRocketry-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
List owner: HighPowerRocketry-owner@yahoogroups.com

It's been set up as a members only group, so hopefully it won't get taken over
by spammers like the last one :-) When you join, please include a message so I
can tell your an HPR person and not a spammer.

I'd like to find a few people to be moderators, so there is no single point of
failure like the old group had. If you've got some experience as a group
moderator, and are someone I know and trust, please offer to assist. While I
have dabbled in HPR over the years, I'm certainly no expert there.

Bob

Dough you must have missed what makes these camera's so impressive

THEY ARE 720P !!!

in fact NOW you can get a 1080P cam for $150 !! (well its 1440x1080 so not FULL
FULL 1080P ie 1920x1080) but I think 720p is MORE than sufficient for now :-)

Check out my Friday Videos's on Naram live (second friday) I shot a 720p video
from Keith Vinyard's Radian and its mighty impressive for a $99 camera!
