This group is for those who have walked, cycled or ridden, or who are planning to walk, cycle or ride, the Via Francigena from Canterbury to Rome, or any of the old pilgrimage routes to Rome. The group's aim is to collect and share information about the routes and act as a resource for those who are contemplating the journey.

This group will also serve as a pseudo-site with Links to other Via Francigena sites. There is an ever-growing wealth of information in the Files and Databases, including route info, lodging, maps and recommended books but more information is needed on all topics. I solicit any and all suggestions for improving the usefulness of this group and if you have any Links, Files, Photos or Database information to add you are welcome to do so.

Do not expect there to be as many posts here on topics like "What shall I wear" or "How do I get to Canterbury" as there are on some Camino sites. Pilgrims on the Via Francigena are in general a resourceful and experienced bunch and it is likely this is not their first long walk, cycle or ride. If you do need such advice do not hesitate to ask though.
