Description

VFP Discussion is an unofficial Veterans for Peace (VFP) electronic forum for discussing issues of peace, war, social justice, and veterans affairs. This group is also an appropriate forum for posting and discussing articles posted to and issues raised on the VFP Yahoo! group, VFP-ALL.

Membership in this group is open to members of VFP and allies. All members are expected to adhere to the purposes of VFP as stated in the Article 2 of the VFP bylaws. Principled disagreements about war, pacifism, politics, etc. are welcome; however, outright advocacy and apologetics for military intervention and/or occupations such as the Chinese occupation of Tibet, the US occupation of Iraq/Afghanistan, and the Israeli occupation of Palestine are inconsistent with the purposes of VFP and are not welcome here. Individuals members are requested to, generally, limit their postings to no more than three messages per day. Please do not post commercial solicitations. Unprincipled, disrespectful criticism of VFP, other groups, or individuals is not appropriate--criticism of ideas and actions is welcome. The list owner and moderator(s) may remove messages and/or sanction members that do not adhere to these standards.

Group members are encouraged to informally moderate one another. All formal moderation decisions by the owner or moderator(s) will be communicated to the entire group and will conform to the schedule set forth below.

First offense: Warning
Second offense: Three-day suspension of posting privileges
Third offense: Banning
