Description

This Family History Group is for anyone researching or involved with the surname VENNARD and its’ common variations,

e.g. VANNART, VANART, VANNERT, VANNARD, VANNERD, VENIARD, VENNERT, VENERT, VENNART, VENART, VENARD, VINARD, VINNARD, VINYARD
(and possibly VAN ARDT, and VANNET)

VENNARD is the most commonly used variant of the surname in current use. The generally accepted view is that VENNARD is a French Huguenot surname. Bearers of the name, along with many others fled France due to religious persecution and sought refuge in other countries, such as Ireland, England, Holland, and America.

The aim of this group is genealogical research and family awareness. Please limit postings to those which will be of interest to group members. SPAMMERS are not welcome.

If you found this group directly via YAHOO, you may wish to take some time to visit ... http://www.vennardfamily.com/ ... where you will be able to view the considerable research that has been done on this surname in Ireland by Dr. Sue Turner. We would welcome family history research material from VENNARD families in other regions, particularly France, as we have yet to find provable links to France.

The tartan displayed here is the Armagh tartan which is the county in Ulster from whence the largest numbers of Irish VENNARD families originated.
