With VSS' new website, the steps for subscribing are:

1. Go to the VSS website: www.vegetarian-society.org
2. In the left frame, near the bottom, click on Mailing List
3. Enter your email address in the yellow box
4. You will receive an email from Yahoo asking you to confirm that you indeed want to be part of this email group
5. Reply affirmatively to the email from Yahoo

Or, just use the link at the bottom of this e-Newsletter. There's also a link there if someone wishes to unsubscribe.

The New Paper Big Walk
In 2003, VSS had a contingent of about 25 people in The New Paper Big Walk. Our contingent carried a sign saying Vegetarian Society (Singapore), a few us of wore costumes as fruits and vegetables and we all wore hats with fruits and vegetable on top. We attracted a lot of attention from fellow walkers and the media. In all, our contingent helped charity, was fun, gave us some exercise and showed vegetarianism in a positive light.

We want to take part in this year's Big Walk, 22 May. Stay tuned for details. If you'd like to help organise this year's VSS contingent, pls contact info@....

Why I Stopped Being a Vegetarian

Often, the last item in this e-Newsletter features a story in which someone recounts how they became a vegetarian. However, the sad truth is that the door swings both ways; many people are ex-vegetarians. Madonna is perhaps the best-known example, but there are Singapore examples also.

We need to understand why people stop being vegetarian so that we can help more people stick with this noble venture. Thus, if you or someone you know is or (better) was an ex-vegetarian (in other words, they came back to being veg again), please send us your/their story: info@.... Thx.
