The Vatican post office issued its first Braille stamps, with raised
dots spelling out Braille, Vatican City State and the price, to
commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Louis Braille.
The stamps issued Wednesday have a value of US$0.96, The Canadian
Press reported.
The Vatican said it will print 300,000 stamps, which will go on sale
at its post offices near St Peter's Basilica.
Braille was born in France in 1809 and lost his sight at an early
age. He then developed a reading and writing system based on patterns
of raised dots that allow blind people to recognise the alphabet with
the tips of their fingers.

I received the following request to trade stamps via vaticanphilately.org. Am
posting it here in case anyone wants to trade with him:
Dear Sir,
I collect joint issues from all over the world, and I was wondering if you can
get me in touch with someone who is willing to sell me his duplicate joint issue
stamps from the Vatican or any other country, (provided I don't already have
it). I am not a dealer, so I will only need one of each. I will certainly
appreciate it. Thank you.
Yours,
C. Bugeya

Subject: [VatiStamps] Vatican Stamp Albums / Pages
About two years ago, I started making my own stamp album pages, but have
since lost ALL my files.
Rather than start again I am considering buying a new set of
albums/pages.
Do any of the members have any suggestions as to where I can buy or
better still (for cheapness) know where I can download album pages?
I have searched the internet, and a few different ones are available but
are quite costly.
I live in the United Kingdom, and the resources are very few here.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thankyou in advance
Michael.
