VashonFreecycle! We're part of The Freecycle Network™, a worldwide movement dedicated to recycling useful items within communities. Through Freecycle, find new homes for things you no longer use receive something you want -free! Clean out your house, keep good stuff out of the landfill, help others at the same time.
VashonFreecycle is open to anyone who lives, works, or spends most of their time on Vashon/Maury Islands. Here's how:
To post:
Read the group FAQ first (emailed to you when you joined & reminders are sent out every 2 weeks)
Every post's Subject line must begin with the word OFFERED, TAKEN, WANTED or RECEIVED
Your post's Subject line must show your area (eg: "Burton").
Posting/closing an OFFERED:
OFFERED: Twin bed [Burton]
TAKEN:twin bed[Burton]
(Only the offerer posts the TAKEN!)
Posting/closing a WANTED: (
you can post 2 WANTEDs per week)
WANTED: bricks[Dockton]
RECEIVED: bricks [Dockton]
The rest is just common sense:
Everything offered or wanted must be absolutely, totally free, legal, tangible, and suitable for all ages.
Please, no posts for services and no trades/barter/money of any kind.
Interested in an OFFER? Reply with private email to the offerer; don't "reply all" to the entire group.
Please show up! Pickup your item ASAP or email/phone the offerer to cancel.
Never OFFER with "it's out on the curb, first one here gets it". Work directly with just one person at a time.
