Even today the hamlet (of: small town) Boeschoten can be found on a
deserted spot nearby a crossing point of sandy roads, far away from the
civilized world. This has been the way since 1326 when the family name was first mentioned in the registers of the "Liege records of Gelre".
There we read that in 1326 Ricole van Boeschoten starts to work at
Boeschoten as a forester (from: Boeschoten een Veluwse kroniek, by: C.
W. van der Waals-Nachenius)
