I'd second Rick's comment. When you go to IMS be sure to visit the back
rooms where the odds and ends are located (almost out onto the working
floor where the saws are located.) Also, there is a set of racks as
wide as the sales room where longer lengths of odds and ends (like 10' -
20') are located.

On almost every trip there I find some piece of metal that brings a new
project to mind. Can't beat the prices/lb, less than I was paying on
Washington St. at the scrap yards.

David, you must have "The Gift" in dealing with Davis Salvage .... I wouldn't be so sure about pricing there... The Big Guy at Davis seems to have a HUGE...

I usually stop by American Metals at 740 w broadway (in mesa). That is their scrap/recycle yard. They set aside -a lot- of re-usable cut-offs/remnants/partials...

Yea, its ok. Its nearby for me too and they are open Saturday morning. Good for weldable steel. I've never really bought aluminum or brass stock from them....
