This group is intended as a way to connect Utah parents (and those living in surrounding states, depending how far you want to travel) wanting to expose their children to other children with Chicken Pox, in order for their child to contract Chicken Pox and gain natural lifelong immunity. This group is intended for parents who choose not to vaccinate their children. Each member should do their research about chicken pox and understand that while 99.99% of people who contract the disease recover fully and then have lifelong immunity, there is a very rare risk of serious complications. Members whose children have contracted the disease should post their willingness to organize a party, and be willing to share contact information for others who are interested in participating.

According to the CDC, there are approximately 4 million cases a year, between 5000 to 9000 hospitalizations and 100 deaths from complications. There are also risks to having the chicken pox vaccine, as with all vaccines. Please research all options before making your decision. You are responsible for the decisions you make and this group holds no responsibilty for any negative outcomes.
