WHAT IS USMC HANGOUT AND HOW DID IT START?
In early 2001 USMC Hangout was created on Yahoo Clubs as a place for Marines and their families to just Hangout and to give and receive support through other Marine families and friends. In August 2001 the club was converted to a Yahoo Group, the same Group you see today.

We established the USMC HANGOUT website in October of 2003 as a way of expanding our Group and offering more information to our members or anyone else interested in the Marine Corps. We currently have over 200 pages of information, message boards, buddy locater, chat rooms, blogs, a point & shop system, and an arcade. We still continue to grow on a daily basis and strive to be the best site out there. We listen to what our members and viewers want to see and strive to answer each and every e-mail sent to us.

Although our site still caters to everything Marine Corps, we also have members of other branches as well as spouses from other branches join on a daily basis.
