Description
Northern Virginians for Peace and Justice is a networking group of peace advocates/activists and a clearinghouse of info about peace events and projects for N. Virginians.
We have meetings on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, from 7:15 - 9:00 pm, alternating between the Tysons Pimmit and Woodrow Wilson libraries (both located just off Route 7/Leesburg Pike in Fairfax Co).
We are working on such projects as public film showings, cable t.v. spots, lobbying, banner drops, attendance at marches, vigils, petitions, leafleting, outreach, teach-ins and more. We can help you find like-minded neighbors to join your efforts for peace.
This yahoo group is a moderated forum, providing a place to find peace events and projects in N. Virginia and beyond. Consider joining Greater DC area and national peace listserves to read about and post events outside N. VA. (or, try to post the link rather than the entire duplication.)
If you want to share an article or voice an opinion or have back and forth dialogues, we have a "DISCUSS" forum (nova-peace-discuss).
Some other places to find and post Greater DC area and wider ranging peace event announcements include:
