Dear Mr. Annan:
Appendix A is a letter I have written to the other students who
attended the United Nations Youth Human Rights Conference late last
year. I hope you can address the serious issues I have raised.
APPENDIX A:
-----------
Darryl Van Slack,
Barrie Learning Center,
Barrie, Ontario, Canada,
vanslack@...
Hi, I'm Darryl van Slack and I spoke at the United Nations Youth
Human Rights Conference about a solution to all our financial woes
and
suggested the student conference on economic reform. I'd like to
thank
everyone who gave me their email address. I have created a listserv
called unyouth2000@egroups.com with the addresses I was given so we
can all post our thoughts and everyone gets a copy of our continuing
discussions. Just send it to unyouth@egroups.com and everyone hears
about it.
This was what I had told you in my uncompleted speech at the U.N.
"Good afternoon everyone. Fellow students, I propose a
solution for almost all of these problems and our leaders of the
world already know about the solution and rejected it recently.
Our planet does not have a scarcity of food or water. We
have
all the essential materials and technology for every human to
live
a humane lifestyle. Our world has a scarcity of money, money that
is needed to finance projects for global equality.
My friend, John The Engineer Turmel, discovered the Big Lie
of Economics and has developed a solution called LETS. Local
Employment-Trading System.
All economics is based upon the false premise that interest
fights inflation when in fact interest causes inflation. Consider
how governments presently finance their activities. Bankers
create
the money supply with their printing plates. Governments around
the world borrow large sums of money and the bank charges
interest
on the repayment of the principal loan. This is called a mort-
gage, the French words for death-gamble. (Many laughs)
The problem is governments and producers in the free market
are forced to gamble by borrowing newly created principal or
money
to pay for production costs. The interest on top of the principal
forces inflation on the cost of products and services to
recuperate both the created principal dollars and the non-created
interest from their sales. Because total goods priced at
Principal
+ Interest can't ever be all sold when consumers only have
Principal dollars available, a minimum amount of goods must
remain
unsold and a minimum number of producers must suffer failure and
foreclosure. There will always be insufficient money in
circulation for all to repay Principal plus Interest and survive
the mortgage deathgamble.
Today, foreclosures do not add to the rich man's wealth but
actually decrease their wealth by increasing the taxation to care
for the increasing number of unemployed.
Recently in September at the Millennium Summit,
"the Forum urged the United Nations to restructure the
global
financial architecture to balance the monetary means to favor..."
Okay, I'm going to have to skip the rest. Anyone who would
like to help me approach the U.N. and challenge them to host a
student conference of economic reform, please come and see me.
Thank you."
I had no time to finish the rest of speech:
"the Millennium Forum urged the United Nations to
restructure
the global financial architecture to balance the monetary means
to
favor human endeavor and ecology, such as an alternative time-
based currency."
( http://www.un.org/millennium/declaration.htm ) Section C6
Without interest or usury fee. Millennium Forum Declaration
C6 offers a parallel zero-interest alternative time-based
currency
operated by a United Nations Agency called UNILETS. UNC6 was
rejected by our leaders and I propose to set an example and adopt
a declaration of this brilliant resolution in our declaration of
human rights as we are the youth who will inherit the future.
Debt
financing with interest must cease. If not, alternative currency
such as community dollars or LETS dollars that are time-based
without interest must be allowed to fill the gap when national
currencies are kept in short supply."
Interest-free currency is already working in communities
across the globe with Local Employment-Trading Systems (LETS).
Everyone has something to offer the global community. Log on to
the world wide web and join today."
I provided text to the drafting committee for our Student Human
Rights Declaration 2000:
"U.N. Millennium Forum Declaration C6. The Forum urges The
United
Nations to make serious commitments to restructure the global
financial architecture to balance the monetary means to favor
human endeavor and ecology, such as an alternative time-based
currency. UNC6 offers a parallel zero interest alternative time-
based currency operated by a United Nations agency called
UNILETS."
Notice our Declaration is an improvement over the Millennium
Forum's at http://un.org/millennium/declaration.htm since ours
includes the name of the Agency, UNILETS, and the fact it is interest-
free, both which had been cut out of their Millennium Forum
declaration by anonymous U.N. censors.
Needless to say I was shocked when, in the few hours from the
completion of our final youth declaration by the drafting committee
and its presentation to the assembly for approval hours later, the
whole UNILETS resolution agreeing with the Millennium Forum
Declaration C6 that I had seen included in our draft just a few hours
earlier had been deleted by parties unknown.
Whodunit? Whydunit? Wheredunit? Whendunit? Howdunit?
I would ask the drafting committee to post
1) our original draft youth declaration;
2) our final draft of our declaration;
3) someone else's draft to our assembly for ratification.
I want to know whether the drafters deleted my UNILETS
resolution
after having put it in, or whether it was deleted by other persons
unknown after they had handed it in. But I think we should find out
who we handed our finished declaration to and trace its movements
until we find the secret censor.
I wonder how it will look to historians when they look back and
see that the Millennium Forum suggested and endorsed UNC6 to fix the
world's banking system and the youth conference heard about it but
did
not endorse the solution as well. Remember, we students did want to
include our agreement with the Millennium Forum on UNC6 that a world-
wide interest-free alternative banking system was necessary and some
back-room operator changed our declaration and presented us with a
fraudulent version for our final ratification. Right?
The purpose of this unyouth2000@egroups.com is to permit
discussions by participants in the United Nations Youth Conference on
Human Rights held on Dec. 6-8 in order amend the fraudulent final
declaration which had been censored by parties unknown before being
presented to the assembly for ratification. The proposal to endorse
Millennium Forum Declaration C6 which called for a UNILETS interest-
free alternative time-based currency was censored from the final
youth
declaration. This group is created to try to amend the fraudulent
U.N.
Youth 2000 declaration to include any and all resolutions written by
the student participants that may have been similarly censored.
The censors cannot be allowed to deny the whole world the
potential for world peace and prosperity. I know that they censored
my
resolution without telling anyone, is there anything else left out
from our final draft that was censored by the back-room boys? I do
remember at least one other resolution that was deleted from our
final
version. Someone proposed that all national U.N. delegations include
one youth member. I remember that being ratified. Where did that
suggestion go, drafting committee?
Finally, if you know of any other students who are not on the
list of members which you can look at if you visit
http://www.egroups.com/group/unyouth2000 please send me their email
address at vanslack@... so I can add it or get them to open
an
egroup account and subscribe to unyouth2000@egroups.com themselves.
