Although the future of secondhand and antiquarian bookshops and the books they sell are frequent topics of conversation in the real world, there seems to be little opportunity to continue the discussion online. Hopefully, this forum will provide UK booksellers and their customers with an opportunity to do just that.

For instance: Do Oxfam's bookselling activities really pose a threat to independent bookshops? Will secondhand bookshops survive online bookselling? And, if they can, how might they better appeal to the download generation? These are just a few of the topics I hope we will explore in the coming months.
