The Graduate Students of Color organization is a community of graduate and professional students dedicated to the social, cultural and academic well-being of Students of Color at UCLA.

Students of Color includes students of African, Asian/Pacific Islander, Latino, Native American descent, as well as students of other cultures, ethnicities and international origins.

We promote, support and sponsor efforts that improve the quality of students' academic, professional and social lives respectful of differences including, but not exclusive to culture, class, disability, gender and sexual orientation.

We are committed to increasing representation and retention of people of color at all levels of the university.

Goals:

- To build and sustain a supportive community for graduate Students of Color that contributes to their academic development, social growth, and well-being.

- To increase the political awareness and involvement of graduate Students of Color on UCLA's campus and beyond.

- To sponsor cultural, educational, and social programs and activities that appeal to graduate Students of Color.

- To provide space in which all persons can network and acquire opportunities for professional development.
