People interested in the concept of alienation and the works of Chris L Wanjala.Professor Chris L Wanjala is well-known for his contribution to the criticism of East African Literature in his books,The Season of Harvest(1978),For Home and Freedom(1980) and The Growth of a Literary Tradition(2003).He has edited several books and authrored a novel Drums of Death.Formerly Director,Institute of African Studies,University of Nairobi,he has taught at Egerton University(1990-20000) and always returned to the University of Nairobi where he teaches literature.He is best known as a columnist for the Sunday Nation and his contributions on literature,culture and politics.Taban lo Liyong, one the four men of letters (the others being Ngugi wa Thiong'o, Okot p'Bitek and Henry Owuor Anyumba) who revolutionized the teaching of literature is East Africa , described Chris as the man

Chris L Wanjala started the site in 2006 to try and expand the Great Literature Debate on the Abolition of the English Department at the University of Nairobi(1969-1980).He is one of the proponents of the fact that the British did a lot to demolish the shrines erected by Africans.Anyone who tried to countermand their cultural imperialism was said to be schizophrenic and out of his or her mind.All agents who acted against British cultural domination were put in prison and/or committed to mental hospitals.Cultural alienation led to of frustration among the colonized.The frustration manifested ensued in antagonism and revolt agaisnt the British administrators and missionaries.The misery of the Bukusu of Western Kenya where Professor Chris L Wanjala hails from dates back not only to the time when the Bukusu were in Misri and the ogres devoured them, until Mwambu and Sela cried and said,"Let my people Go'";it touches on the Chetambe Holocaust in which the Bukusu residing in a fort in were decimated in 1895
