Description
This group has been created to enable and facilitate communication amongst Tanzanians and Associates living, working and studying in Edinburgh and surroundings, in Scotland. As initially hoped, this platform eventually paved a way for a formation of an association which in turn is enabling members and stakeholders to get more organized in terms of communication. We also hope that it will facilitate the sharing of information and communication between and amongst ourselves and our brothers and sisters in Tanzania - including the sitting Leadership back home.
It is worth noting that the June 2002 visit to the Scottish Parliament, in Edinburgh by a delegation of Women MPs from the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania, led by Hon. Anna Makinda MP, motivated and highlighted the importance of having such an association in an organized manner.
We are evolving and adapting as our needs and situation changes with time.
Our constitution was formally adopted on 18/12/2007. TzECA was formally launched on 05/12/2008 by H.E. Mwanaidi Sinare Maajar, High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania accredited to the Court of St. James, United Kingdom and (Non-resident) Ambassador Extraordinary of the United Republic of Tanzania, Ireland.
