Description
This is a members-only group dedicated to the passage of the FairTax bill. Research for this bill was accomplished through the efforts of Americans for Fair Taxation (http://www.fairtax.org). AFFT is a non-profit, nonpartisan group with a common goal of replacing the IRS code with the FairTax, a national retail sales tax that will:
• Repeal the federal income tax
• Repeal all payroll taxes including taxes on Social Security and Medicare
• Repeal corporate and self-employment taxes
• Repeal all estate, gift, and capital gains taxes
• Make the taxation of income unconstitutional
• Provide a universal rebate equal to the sales tax paid on essential goods and services to ensure that no American pays taxes on necessities
• Impose a 23% tax-inclusive rate on the purchase of new goods and services in the U.S.
• Dramatically lower tax rates for low and middle-income Americans
• Allow families to save more for home ownership, education, and retirement.
Thank you for being a part of this group!
This list has several basic guidelines which we ask that all members follow:
Limit your emails to the FairTax and replacing the income tax. Volunteer activities, questions on the Bill which are not addressed on the www.fairtax.org research section of the website etc... are all welcome.
Please no off topic discussions.
No foul language
No personal insults, slams or "flaming" to other list members
No insults to any particular political party, gender, or elected officials
One on One conversations on email should not be posted to the entire list including "way to go's"
If someone posts an inappropriate email, they will be warned once and then removed from the list. We would like to have great communication but keep the traffic down to relevant emails only.
Thanks again for all that you do!!
