The Fourth Age

A thousand years have passed since Tarmon Gai’don - the Dark One is once again securely locked away from the world and the old evil is gone. The deeds of the Dragon Reborn - Rand al’Thor - and his followers are history’s legends now, and his creation, the Black Tower, was rebuilt on the side of Dragonmount, remaining as a testament to the deeds of heroes of the past…a sentinel to keep the world safe from harm.

Whereas the Black Tower prospered throughout the Fourth Age, the White Tower fell. Though Egwene al'Vere managed to gain control of the White Tower by manipulating the Seanchan into giving her control of all channelers in the Westlands, her inflexibility and refusal to negotiate with anyone caused many of the Aes Sedai - and the world as a whole - to turn against her.

Though Egwene was eventually deposed, the Aes Sedai had lost the support of the kingdoms they once enjoyed. Recently, however, the Aes Sedai have begun to rebuild and hope to reclaim the glory and honor they lost due to their own arrogance. Little do they know that Egwene al'Vere's progeny, Nor, is determined to continue her grandmother Egwene's quest and to take what she believes is rightfully hers...the world, which she intends to rule herself as soon as she destroys the Black Tower.

However, unbeknownst to all, while games of Daes Dae'mar abound and Darkfriends work to free the Dark One from his prison, a new evil has taken the place of the old and has had a thousand years to gain power in the isolated land of Shara. In their quest to battle the Forsaken and to seal the Dark One away once more, the evil of Shadar Logoth slipped past the notice of all and fled to the west, where it sought to control the hearts and minds of the Sharan people. Now it is making its move for the Westlands, intending to destroy everything the Dragon Reborn fought for.
