I'm not going to a midnight showing, but I did take the day off of work with another teacher to go see it first thing tomorrow morning!!  We are going to go eat breakfast together and then go see New Moon at 10 AM.  I'm so excited to see Taylor Lautner.  He's the only reason I'm going to see New Moon at all!

Does anyone have the soundtrack?  Is it worth buying?

I'm seriously looking forward to seeing this movie. It will be interesting what the new director brings to the film series.

Does anyone have awesome plans? I know I took the night off work so I would be assured a nice place in line. Unfortunately, I didn't think to ask off the next morning, and I work at 10am. Oh well! The price we pay for love. *grins*

My awesome plans include but are not limited to: Sitting in line with my friends playing the trivia game that I'm sure my friend Becky will make/bring. I'll probably spring for cookies or something to share with the other folks in line. Our group is probably gonna be around 12-15 people. It will be fabulous fun. It's really awesome because the theater where I'm seeing it is in the mall and so I'll have food practically at my fingertips and I can take it into the theater with me! Yay!

Whatever you do, please stay safe and be courteous of other people also waiting in line to see the movie.

Play nice. :D

Hey,

I joined a while ago but haven't introduced myself and thought now is probably as good time as any because i'm skipping a 3 hour lab lesson!! (it had to be done..) can't think of anything else to say apart from i'm Twilight crazy of course, i'm reading the books for like the millionth time! just can't get enough. May be a bit of a problem thought because i am an escapist and i become so engrossed in them that i can make myself think that they're real!! :) (i know doesn't sound so good, but whats done is done)

I don't think there's any fan of twilight out there who doesn't believe that its real, even if it is a tiny part, one that they would never share with anyone else, a place just where Twilight belongs and exists...

I'll stop there, don't want to freak anybody out, overall i LOVE reading and writing, it is my passion, hobby and outlet. But i am in my first year of university and i study Physics (my physics pals would be a bit worried if they knew that i believe that Edward exists somehow, somewhere...gotta stop with the freaking out :P)

I joined this group hoping to meet other people who love the saga as much as i do. And to talk about it, because i can never seem to stop talking about it, i drive my friends a teeeensy bit crazy :) so if there's anyone out there who wants to have fun and crazy conversations about the saga, dont hesitate to email me!

Hey, I joined before under another name but I don't think I introduced myself.

I've always loved vampire fiction/mythology. But I didn't get into Twilight till maybe a couple months before the first movie came out. I was turned off by it being targeted towards teens, also that SM is a Mormon... I know, judge-y on my part. I hope I don't offend anyone! (I am over being judgmental about anything especially religion now. I'm studying Humanistic Judaism. My dad was Jewish & I never identified with mom's family. I totally do with dad's family who I'm recently meeting.) But I read the first book so fast. And not only did I get engrossed in the story/plot. I was convinced Stephanie Meyer was from where I grew up. Port Townsend WA, VERY close to Forks. The details were fantastic, so spot on. They filmed outside of Portland OR, another place I've lived but they did a good job of making it look like the Olympic Peninsula. The parts that were really spot on for the area added in the movie I was a bit disappointed to find out how the other regionalism were added by Billy Burke and the extras. But I've worked in film so I should know better, stuff like that changes all the time during filming. When Charlie says "Vitamin R" for the Rainer beer I just about died. My uncles lived for their "Vitamin R".
But now I have Midnight Sun on my computer and I'm having such a hard time putting off reading it, I want to read the final version, and reading on my laptop sucks...

  1. Favorite character: Easy, Alice.
  2. (had to add this) Character crush: JASPER!! But I've been getting into Jackson Rathbone as an actor/musician big time
  3. Favorite book: Total tossup between Twilight and Breaking Dawn for such such different reasons.
  4. Other books I like to read: I've got a bit of a problem there... I get so bored if it's not vampire based... I'm going into the Sookie Stackhouse series now
  5. Rest about me? Dunno... Love hockey, Love Russian players specifically, learning languages, traveling, photography, trying to learn to write and web design right now. Also I'm partially disabled and a bit stuck in Buffalo NY right now. Getting divorced and waiting on an accident lawsuit settlement. Moving to DC before next hockey season.
I am getting back into writing, I have to concentrate on writing about hockey for now (future work prep), but I hope to be able to not so much write fanfic as original vampire based stories.

Welcome to the Twilight fangroup on Yahoo Groups!

Let's get right to it then. Couple of obvious, and hopefully unnecessary ground rules: All discussions regarding Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series are welcomed and encouraged. Book discussion is also appropriate; however, let's rememeber why we're here. No 98 message threads on "How War and Peace Changed My Life," Thanks anyway! And while your forwards are cute and all, this is not the place to share them. Also, keep in mind that not all of us are going to be English speaking as a first language, seeing as Stephenie has a HUGE fan base. So keep the internet lingo to a minimum. No posts that read "OMG tht wuz awesum! Talk l8tr." If you can read a 300+ page book, you can type full sentences.

Your first post, ideally, would be an introduction to yourself. How long have you loved Twilight? Which book/character was your favorite? What other books do you like to read? There isn't a set introduction. Just say what you think will give us all a better idea of who you are!

Your membership allows you to add photos, fanart, avatars and the like in the Photos section. If you don't see the proper folder for what you're putting up, make one. If I have another idea, I'll suggest it as the need arises, but please don't just pick a folder and shove it anywhere. As you'll see, it's organized in there and I'd like to keep it that way. You can also post links to other Stephenie Meyer related sites in the Links section. I've seen some really great sites in there, so feel free to check them out. You can also make polls in the Polls section. They don't have to close, you can leave them open that way people can continue to vote, or change their minds, or do whatever. If you need help with anything, send me a message, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

The main forum is for sharing fanfics for now, but I'm hoping there's a way to get them separate so as not to make mile-long posts. But for now, just go ahead and put them up. Also good on the main forum are book discussions, questions about the series, recommendations for other books while we are (currently) waiting for Eclipse, and other fun stuff like that.

Respect each other at all times. And on the main forum, PG13 please; seeing as Stephenie is a Mormon author, she has a Mormon fan base, and it's likely you'll meet other Mormons while you're here. If your fanfic is graphic or could offend someone, lable it as such in the Subject. (I'm thinking using the standard movie rating system will work; PG, PG13, and R is fine.)

OK, I think that's everything for right now. Questions? Comments? Suggestions? Send them to me, and I'll take care of it!

Thanks!
From your friendly neighborhood moderator (Heather)

I'm a new member, so I thought I'd tell you about myself.I'm a thirteen year old
girl. I like to roller blade and I love baseball! I heard about Twilight through
my friends telling me it had supernatural characters. i love anything that has
to do with the supernatural, whether vampires, werewolves, phoenixes or ghosts,
thats definitely my thing! My favorite character throughout the whole series
would probabli be Jacob Black, because he is the most like my personality,
outgoing, friendly, and has a little bit of an explosive temper. I love the
whole book series, but my favorite would be a tie between Twilight and Eclipse.
Breaking Dawn is probably my least favorite because Bella changes completely
after she's transformed. Everything that she was, she isn't anymore, clumsy, not
sure of herself, average. Thats a little about me. I am so thrilled to be part
of this group!

In 1 way that is true. i was reading another book that had basically the same story line. i coudn't believe it! it was made in 1999, and had the love story with bite theme. of course twilight was wayy better, i think she mite have taken someone else's idea.

I belive that all books like these have almost the same plot and they each steal diff. stuff frm diff. people. and if it was realy based on who stole whos idea all vamire books were stolen from the first vampire book and movie.

That is so true. I feel that when it comes to vampires and wolfs there isn't an original idea. Look at True blood (so good by the way). Similar characters to Twilight. I didn't see the document but what i was told is that it does not look good. I don't think it has anything to do with jealousy. Is like Cold Play getting sued for the music. It happens unitentionally.....

I wish her luck!!!

I hope they will change their mind because I don't think the other actress will be good for this role. Besides, it isn't fare at all for Rachelle. I remember an interview of her about how hard she worked for this role and how she was looking forward to play in Eclipse.
Bryce Dallas Howard has the right hair color but I can't see her as a vampire. She doesn't look like she is in the physical shape to play the fight scenes and she looks a lot older then Rachelle, that will be very odd.

I hope they reinstate Rachelle. It's not fair for Summit to recast such a vital role for Eclipse just because of that. Rachelle is Victoria. No one else can change that. I have nothing against Bryce Dallas Howard but that's just my opinion.

Blood is starting to boil over in the Twilight zone.

Earlier today, the deposed Rachelle Lefevre revealed that she was "stunned" and "greatly saddened" by Summit Entertainment' s decision to recast Bryce Dallas Howard in the role of villainous Victoria in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

And now Summit has fired back, saying the Canadian actress failed to inform the studio until July 20 that she was planning to be in Europe shooting an indie film when the Twilight gang was convening for rehearsals.

"We at Summit Entertainment are disappointed by Rachelle Lefevre's recent comments which attempt to make her career choices the fault of the Studio," reads a statement released by Summit to Access Hollywood late Wednesday.

"Her decision to discuss her version of the scheduling challenges publicly has forced the Studio to set the record straight and correct the facts."

Forget fangs. Those are claws we see.

"It was not until July 20th that Summit was first informed of Ms. Lefevre's commitment to Barney's Version, a commitment we have since been advised she accepted in early June," the statement continued. "Summit had acted in good faith that she would be available to fulfill her obligations both in terms of rehearsals and shooting availability for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. We feel that her choice to withhold her scheduling conflict information from us can be viewed as a lack of cooperative spirit which affected the entire production."

Lefevre, who appears in the second installment of the franchise, New Moon, said today that she only needed 10 days off to work on Barney's Version.

"Never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10-day overlap," she said.

Believe us, neither did Twilight fans, who, despite Howard's decent thespian pedigree (not to mention her pale visage and fiery red hair) are up in arms over the casting switcheroo. And, sure enough, there's an online petition to get Lefevre reinstated.

But Summit maintains that Lefevre left 'em high and dry in their hour of need. Or was going to, anyway.

"Ms. Lefevre took a role in the other film that places her in Europe during the required rehearsal time, and at least 10 days of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse's principal photography. This period is essential for both rehearsal time with the cast, and for filming at key locations that are only available during the initial part of production," Summit said.

"The fact remains that Ms. Lefevre's commitment to the other project—which she chose to withhold from Summit until the last possible moment—makes her unfortunately unavailable to perform the role of Victoria in [Eclipse]."

Meanwhile, a source told E! News that Summit could save a few (or more) bucks by recasting Lefevre's role, rather than giving her a promised pay raise for the third film.

The plot thickens. So far, Howard has remained mum on her upcoming role, perhaps figuring it's best to keep a low profile until this undead madness dies off, and then just show up for work in Vancouver looking pretty.

i got eclipse yesterday and by the rate im reading, i'll be done in seven days.
I love the book and the movie but the book is better, as always. Hey, also did
you know that Stephenie Meyer was supposed to make another book of Twilight from
Edwards point of view called Midnight Sun. But, unfortunatly, the draft leaked
onto the internet. She then decided not to do it (as far as i know).

Wow, I'm glad they're not fashioning the comic book Edward and Bella after Kristen and Rob.  And I think the anime style will give Edward the image he deserves and that will best suit him.  This really excites me!  I can't wait to see the finished product!!

I had a weird Twilight dream also. But it was far from the plot of the books. I was Alice and I broke up with Jasper to be with Carlisle because Esme left him. Freaky.

Although i agree killing a Cullen would have been an exciting story i think the way she wrote that was perfect. To me this part was like a chess game (cover). Edward (in my opinion) was always ahead of the game because of mind reading. Honestly, if there was death match i really don't think anyone would have survived. Maybe Bella but i don't think so.

What i think should have been different was the Jacob / Renesmee part. Not only because it was a little creepy. But it was just too perfect. Bella got it all. I didn't like that idea. I wish that was a bit different.

She stated that she just couldn't see a way to do a big war without casulties. So my question to you all is, do you like the way Breaking Dawn went or do you really wish that there would have been a big blood bath, even if some of our favorite characters would not have survived it?
