No furniture grade willow was used in this project. I used all crap willow.
I clear cut the patches so they will come up straight in doing so I get a lot of
willow that is only good for projects like this. I have been building stuff like
this for years the difference is now I'm getting paid for it. Yeah!

That's amazing Lawrence!!! I can't imagine taking on a project like that. How
did you even begin??? How did you haul all that material to Chicago?
I have to admit -- I have one little measley patch of willow on our property
that I guard and very carefully and frugally harvest from for my projects. When
I saw your huge "stump" made of willow, all I could think of was, "Oh, look at
all the chairs and loveseats that could have been!" <smile> Maybe I'll get down
there and see it for myself.

I just finished an installation at Morton Arboretum Chicago
It is for the Animal house theme. The project is a 16 foot raccoon made out of
willow setting in a 12foot dia by 20 foot high stump made from willow. This is
the largest (paid) art project I have accomplished to date. I am waiting for
some better pictures but you can get an idea the size of it by visiting my
website www.bimwillow.com.
