Hi Brother. Iam very happy that you sent your trip information to all of our
friends in 23rd MP Co. and your project for Sam Hai school.
Can you tell me when you going to shot to Chu Lai. Randy told me he will arrive
Saigon on 27 Feb and will get the airplane ticket from Saigon to Chu Lai 29. So
you may come to Chu Lai late than Randy that right? Rupe and his wife arrive to
Saigon before you and Randy but him and his wife will go to Campuchia
Please tell me your plain to Chu Lai so we can together and work on the Sam Hai
school project.
Erni leave on the 19 Feb (sorry he miss you guys).
Once please call me when you get in Saigon.
Ernie told me he pickup the airplane ticket from Austrialia to Saigon and to Chu
Lai it is very expensive. So better (Don't buy airplane ticket from US to Saigon
and Chu Lai) so. When you get in Saigon just walk to the International air line
buy airplane ticket from there to Chu Lai more cheaper.
Hope you are doing very well and send all our best regards.
Remember: Dung (the mechanic) remain me please pickup for him
a air tool and some kind of sackets if you can like you told him before when you
was here in Hoi An also bring some jocky ruber you can tight some on the back of
motorbike.
Tam Biet Hen gap lai Anh Trai.

I am planning what will most likely be my final trip to Vietnam. I will leave
the USA on 3/5 and return on 5/15, 72 days in country. If anyone is interested
in making a return trip to Vietnam contact me by email. No need to do the whole
72 days, if you want to come later I will meet you in Saigon and travel back up
country with you if you do not care to travel in country alone. I have
everything in place now to see whatever it is you might be interested in seeing
or doing for a reasonable price. Good hotels, travel by whatever means you need
or want, and knowledgeable english speaking guide/interperters if needed. A
personalized and far different and less expensive experience than the "cookie
cutter" organized Vietnam Veteran Return trips offered by the travel companies
filled with commie propaganda nonsense and tourist trap side excursions. My
personal travel plans will once again include motorcycling on my faithful WuYang
125cc, and many "off the
beaten path" recons in the Americal Division AO and beyond. In addition I have
plans to repair/renovate a small kindergarten in the village that we knew as
SamHai. This building was constructed by the US Navy SeaBees and USMC in 1967
and is in need of repairs to house another 30 young children whose grandparents
or great grandparents most likly worked for the Americans on ChuLai. I have
collected some funds from a few generous contributors and will again be matching
most if not all contributions from my own funds. If you would care to assist in
this project let me know, all funds will go directly to the renovation and I
will be contracting directly for any work performed as well as doing some work
myself. No corruption money, no "administrative and travel expenses", and no
governmental or NGO nonsense. I have some photos to share of this project, they
are in the photo section of this site in an album entitled "New School Project".
The completed
project will be dedicated to the 23rd MP Company. So far this time I think I
will be traveling alone but I have had a "maybe" from one 23rd MP veteran and I
have reason to believe that another 23rd MP may arrive there 2 weeks before me.
I will not be posting any accounts of my adventures on this site this time since
I was told that last time some of them caused consternation among sensitive
readers and/or their significant others. However if you would like to be
included in an email list and get the adventures of this trip direct to you just
let me know and I wil include you on the list. Warning, some of my travelogue
may not be suitable for all readers, especially those sensitive individuals who
take issue with strong language, my candid observations and charecterizations of
Americans and third county nationals whom I encounter along the way, and my
personal interaction with the friendly Vietnamese. Al Feser
