Ruth went to her mail box and there was only one letter.

She picked it up and looked at it before opening, but then she looked
at the envelope again.
There was no stamp, no postmark, only her name and address.
She�read the�letter

��� I`m going to be in your neighborhood Saturday afternoon
and I'd like to stop by for a visit.

Her hands were shaking as she placed the letter on the table...
'Why would the Lord want to visit me?
I'm nobody special. I don't have anything to offer.'

With that thought, Ruth remembered her empty kitchen cabinets.

'Oh my goodness, I really don't have anything to offer. I'll have to run
down to the store and buy something for dinner.'
She reached for her purse and counted out its contents. Five dollars and
forty cents.
Well, I can get some bread and cold cuts, at least.'
She threw on her coat and hurried out the door.

A loaf of French bread, a half-pound of sliced turkey, and a carton of milk,
leaving Ruth with grand total twelve cents to last her until Monday...
Nonetheless, she felt good as she headed home, her meager offerings
tucked under her arm.

'Hey lady, can you help us, lady?'

Ruth had been so absorbed in her dinner plans, she hadn't even noticed two
figures huddled in the alleyway.

A man and a woman, both of them dressed in little more than rags.

'Look lady, I ain't got a job, you know, and my wife and I have been living
out here on the street, and, well, now it's getting cold and we're getting
kinda Hungry and, well, if you could help us.. Lady, we'd really appreciate it.'

Ruth looked at them both.

They were dirty, they smelled bad and frankly, she was certain that they
could get some kind of work if they really wanted to...

'Sir, I'd like to help you, but I'm a poor woman myself. All I have is a few
cold cuts and some bread, and I'm having an important guest for dinner
tonight and I was planning on serving that to Him.'

'Yeah, well, okay lady, I understand. Thanks anyway.'
The man put his arm around the woman's
shoulders, turned and headed back into the alley.

As she watched them leave, Ruth felt a familiar twinge in her heart.
'Sir, wait!'

The couple stopped and turned as she ran down the alley after them.

'Look, why don't you take this food. I'll figure out something else to serve
my guest...'
She handed the man her grocery bag.

'Thank you lady. Thank you very much!'
'Yes, thank you!' It was the man's wife, and Ruth could see now that she was
shivering

'You know, I've got another coat at home. Here, why don't you take this one.'

Ruth unbuttoned her jacket and slipped it over the woman's shoulders.
Then smiling, she turned and walked back to the street...without her coat
and with nothing to serve her guest..

'Thank you lady!
Thank you very much!'

Ruth was chilled by the time she reached her front door, and worried too.

The Lord was coming to visit and she didn't have anything to offer Him.
She fumbled through her purse for the door key. But as she did, she noticed
another envelope in her mailbox.
'That's odd. The mailman doesn't usually come twice in one day.'

I have a friend who has made some bad decisions.� He was living for the World
and the streets, and the fast money, cars and women life.� He started doing
heavier drugs and got himself way over his head.� He was in a high pursuit
police chase that was on the news and he ran over someone and they died.� He is
in jail awaiting his sentence.� I need all of you told hold the victim's family

2 Peter 3:11 says - "Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what
manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conver-sation and godliness?"
 
Based on this verse of Scripture, there are two undoubted truths to be
considered in this Bible Message. First of all, the world as you know it is
being dissolved. The second truth to consider is that this fact - when believed
- will exert a deep and abiding influence on your life.
 
Peter said that "all things" "shall be dissolved."  In other words, the "germ"
of the coming dissolution is already in being. The things of this world are
already in motion leading up to this climactic event. The material fabric of
this earth is wearing out. The clock - so to speak - is not being wound up any
more. Hence, time is running out. Nothing on earth is stable any more. 
 
Those who believe this Bible truth find themselves in a state of preparation.
 
They live in this state - while keeping themselves unspotted from the
world...perfecting holiness in the fear of God...and exercising themselves unto
godliness. Their values, goals, and purposes in life are being centered around
God and the hope of a new heaven and a new earth. From day to day, they are
growing more serious, humble, and prayerful. Their great interests are in
another world - leading them not to desire to accumulate what must soon be
destroyed but prompting them to lay up treasures in Heaven. From day to day,
they are guarding against intemperance and worldly mindedness and every worldly
and hurtful lust. And, lastly, they are making sure to perform their duties
toward God and man.
 
In spite of the fact that this knowledge of the coming dissolution of all things
is written in the Bible, there are many unbelievers who aren't "buying" this
truth. What they are doing is living for the "NOW" - as "worshippers of visible
things."
 
Take the "man of pleasure" - for example. He is delighting himself with the
things which gratify his senses or flesh. The "man of learning" is neglecting
the "wisdom from above." The "money man" is persisting in digging for gold or
heaping up riches. And the "ambitious man" is toiling for distinction.
 
God will destroy the world as we know it and judge the unrighteous. So why are
you becoming more and more attached to this world's system and the things in it?
 
The things of this world are passing things at best. So why are you living for
time rather than eternity... emphasizing the material rather than the
spiritual... and choosing the passing over the permanent?
 
As you look upon "the instability of earth and its final dissolution, " why are
you not finding "an irresistible argument for holiness of life"?
 
Why is "the dissolution of all things" not producing "a seriousness of thought"
"at all times" upon your mind?  
 
"Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons
ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness?" 
 
With all this in mind, how is this Bible Message going to change the way you are
presently living?

Believe what God believes...
Overcoming negative feelings, whether they stem from childhood or current
situation, takes time and effort, but change is possible.
Christian psychologist, Dr. Dick Dickerson, has written a beautiful summary of
how God looks at you. Read this passage aloud to yourself every morning and
evening for the next month, then evaluate how your feelings about yourself have
changed:

MAKE, OF WHICH THERE ARE MANY.
BECAUSE GOD LOVES ME, HE DOES NOT KEEP SCORE OF ALL MY SINS AND THEN BEAT ME
OVER THE HEAD WITH THEM WHENEVER HE GETS A CHANCE.
BECAUSE GOD LOVES ME, HE IS DEEPLY GRIEVED WHEN I DO NOT WALK IN THE WAYS THAT
PLEASE HIM BECAUSE HE SEES THIS AS EVIDENCE THAT I DON'T TRUST HIM AND LOVE HIM
AS I SHOULD.
BECAUSE GOD LOVES ME, HE KEEPS WORKING PATIENTLY WITH ME EVEN WHEN I FEEL LIKE
GIVING UP.

THE (SCIENTIFIC) DEATH OF JESUS









At the age of 33, Jesus was condemned to�the death penalty.










At the time, crucifixion�was the "worst" death. Only the worst criminals were
condemned to be crucified.�Yet it was even more�dreadful for Jesus. Unlike
other�criminals condemned to death by crucifixion�Jesus was�to be�nailed to the
cross by�His hands and feet.











Each�nail was�6 to 8 inches�long.







�











The nails were�driven into�His wrists...not into�His palms as�is commonly
portrayed.�There's a tendon�in the wrist that extends�to the shoulder.� The
Roman guards knew that when the nails were being hammered into the wrist�that
tendons would tear and break,�forcing�Jesus to�use�His back muscles to support
himself so that He could breath.��














Both of His feet were�nailed together.��Thus, He was forced to support Himself
on�the�single nail�that impaled�His feet to the cross.��Jesus could not support
himself�with His legs because of the pain so He was forced to alternate�between
arching His back�then using his legs just to continue to breath.��Imagine the
struggle, the pain, the suffering, the courage.�











Jesus endured this reality for over 3 hours.

Yes, over 3 hours!�Can you imagine�this kind of suffering?
A few minutes before He died, Jesus�stopped bleeding.�



� He was simply pouring water from his�wounds.












From common images we see wounds to His hands and feet and even the spear wound
to His side.��But do we�realize His wounds were�actually�made in his body.� A
hammer driving large nails through the wrist, the feet overlapped and an even
large nail hammered through the arches, then a Roman guard piercing His side
with a spear.�� But before the nails and the spear, Jesus was whipped and
beaten.� The whipping was so severe that it tore the flesh from His body.� The
beating so horrific that His face was torn and his beard ripped from His face.�
The crown of thorns cut deeply into His scalp.� Most men would not have survived
this torture.�











He had no more blood to bleed out, only�water poured�from His wounds.






The human�adult body�contains�about 3.5 liters (just less than a gallon)�of
blood.











Jesus lost all 3.5 liters of his blood. He had three nails hammered into his
members, a crown of� thorns on his head and, beyond that, a Roman soldier
who�stabbed a spear into his chest.













All this - without mentioning the humiliation. He passed after carrying his own
cross for almost 2 kilometers, while the crowd spat in his face and threw
stones.

(The cross was almost 30 kilograms of weight.)












Jesus had to�endure this experience, so that you can have free access to
God...so that your sins could be "washed" away. All of them, with no exception!
Don't ignore this situation.�JESUS CHRIST�DIED FOR YOU! For you, who now read
this e-mail. Do not believe that He only died for others (those who go to church
or for pastors, bishops, etc).













He died for you! It is easy to pass jokes or foolish photos by e-mail, but when
it comes to God, sometimes you feel ashamed to forward to others because you are
worried of what they may think about you.

� Accept the reality, the truth that JESUS IS THE ONLY SALVATION FOR THE WORLD.










God has plans for you, show all your friends what He experienced to save you.

Now think about this! May God bless your life!

the ways of men or of religion! Bring along side them Godly
companions and friends to encourage and help them walk in your ways
for all the days of their lives. Be their friend, Holy Spirit and
guide and direct them into all your truth and liberty. Grant each of
them peace, and help each one to succeed in life: to fulfill your
destiny and purpose in life and to walk with you in that destiny with
joy and peace and contentment. Help them in their schools and

mercy; take this emptiness away and heal the hollowness of my heart.

Bless the works of my hands and give me fruit for my labors which
remain. Pour out a blessing I can not contain for the glory it brings to your
holy name. Give your children favor with those whom you bring them into contact
to fulfill your will. I praise you that no weapon forged against us prospers and
that those who set snares and traps for us are caught by their own devices, that
the battle isn't ours but
yours and that you will give each of us victory through your loving
name.

“By the Grace of God I Am What I Am”
 
  “"By the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in
vain" (1 Corinthians 15:10).
 
The way we continually talk about our own inabilities is an insult to our
Creator. To complain over our incom-etence is to accuse God falsely of having
overlooked us. Get into the habit of examining from God’s perspective those
things that sound so humble to men. You will be amazed at how unbelievably
inappropriate and disres-ectful they are to Him. We say things such as, “Oh, I
shouldn't claim to be sanctified; I' not a saint. But to say that before God
means, “No, Lord, it is impossible for You to save and sanctify me; there are
opportunities I have not had and so many imperfections in my brain and body; no,
Lord, it isn't possible.” That may sound wonderfully humble to others, but
before God it is an attitude of defiance.
 
Conversely, the things that sound humble before God may sound exactly the
opposite to people. To say, “Thank God, I know I am saved and sanctified, is
in God’s eyes the purest expression of humility. It means you have so
completely surrendered yourself to God that you know He is true. Never worry
about whether what you say sounds humble before others or not. But always be
humble before God, and allow Him to be your all in all.
 
There is only one relationship that really matters, and that is your personal
relationship to your personal Redeemer and Lord. If you maintain that at all
costs, letting everything else go, God will fulfill His purpose through your
life. One individual life may be of priceless value to God’s purposes, and
yours may be that life.

Lengthy, but worth reading all...

Worth reading....This is very good, and actually part of history! True Story!

In hopes that all our college students are able to discern this well! 'Let me
explain the problem science has with religion.'

The athiest professor of Philosophy pauses before his class and then asks one of
his new students to stand.

'You're a Christian, aren't you, son?'

'Yes sir,' the student says.

'So you believe in God?'

'Absolutely. '

'Is God good?'

'Sure! God's good.'

'Is God all-powerful? Can God do anything?'

'Yes'

'Are you good or evil?'

'The Bible says I'm evil.'

The professor grins knowingly. 'Aha! The Bible! He considers for a moment
'Here's one for you. Let's say there's a sick person over here and you can cure
him. You can do it. Would you help him? Would you try?'

'Yes sir, I would.'

'So you're good...!'

'I wouldn't say that.'

'But why not say that? You'd help a sick and maimed person if you could. Most of
us would if we could. But God doesn't.'

The student does not answer, so the professor continues. 'He doesn't, does He?
My brother was a Christian who died of cancer, even though he prayed to Jesus to
heal him. How is this Jesus good? Can you answer that one?'

The student remains silent.

'No, you can't, can you?', the professor says.

He takes a sip of water from a glass on his desk to give the student time to
relax. 'Let's start again, young fella. Is God good?'

'Er..yes,' the student says.

'Is Satan good?'

The student doesn't hesitate on this one. 'No.'

'Then where does Satan come from?'

The student falters. 'From God'

'That's right. God made Satan, didn't he? Tell me, son. Is there Evil in this
world?'

'Yes, sir.'

'Evil's everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything, correct?'

'Yes'

'So who created evil?' the professor continued, 'If God created everything, then
God created evil, since evil exists, and according to the principle that our
works define who we are, then God is evil.'

Again, the student has no answer.

'Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things, do
they exist in this world?'

The student squirms on his feet. 'Yes.'

'So who created them?'

The student does not answer again, so the professor repeats his question. 'Who
created them?' There is still no answer.

Suddenly the lecturer breaks away to pace in front of the classroom. The class
is mesmerized. 'Tell me,' he continues onto another student. 'Do you believe in
Jesus Christ, son?'

The student's voice betrays him and cracks. 'Yes, professor, I do.'

The old man stops pacing. 'Science says you have five senses you use to identify
and observe the world around you. Have you ever seen Jesus?'

'No sir. I've never seen Him.'

'Then tell us if you've ever heard your Jesus?'

'No, sir, I have not.'

'Have you ever felt your Jesus, tasted your Jesus or smelled your Jesus? Have
you ever had any sensory perception of Jesus Christ, or, God for that matter?'

'No, sir, I'm afraid I haven't.'

'Yet you still believe in him?'

'Yes'

'According to the rules of empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science
says your God doesn't exist. What do you say to that, Son?'

'Nothing,' the student replies. 'I only have my faith.'

'Yes, faith,' the professor repeats. 'And that is the problem science has with
God. There is no evidence, only faith.'

> The student stands quietly for a moment, before asking a question of His own.
'Professor, is there such thing as heat?'
>
> ' Yes.'
>
> 'And is there such a thing as cold?'
>
> 'Yes, son, there's cold too.'
>
> 'No sir, there isn't.'
>
> The professor turns to face the student, obviously interested.
>
> The room suddenly becomes very quiet. The student begins to explain.
>
'You can have lots of heat, even more heat, super-heat, mega-heat, unlimited
heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat, but we don't have anything called
'cold'. We can hit down to 458 degrees below zero, which is no heat, but we
can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold; otherwise we
would be able to go colder than the lowest -458 degrees.

Everybody or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and
heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-458
F) is the total absence of heat. You see, sir, cold is only a word we use to
describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat we can measure in
thermal units because heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir,
just the absence of it.'

Silence across the room. A pen drops somewhere in the classroom, sounding like a
hammer.

'What about darkness, professor. Is there such a thing as darkness?'
>
'Yes,' the professor replies without hesitation. 'What is night if it isn't
darkness?'
>
'You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is not something; it is the absence of
something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light,
but if you have no light constantly you have nothing and it's called darkness,
isn't it? That's the meaning we use to define the word. In reality, darkness
isn't. If it were, you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn't you?'

The professor begins to smile at the student in front of him. This will be a
good semester. 'So what point are you making, young man?'

'Yes, professor. My point is, your philosophical premise is flawed to start
with, and so your conclusion must also be flawed.'

The professor's face cannot hide his surprise this time. 'Flawed? Can you
explain how?'

'You are working on the premise of duality,' the student explains. 'You argue
that there is life and then there's death; a good God and a bad God. You are
viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure.

Sir, science can't even explain a thought.' 'It uses electricity and magnetism,
but has never seen, much less fully understood. To view death as the opposite of
life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive
thing. Death is not the opposite of life, just the absence of it.' 'Now tell me,
professor. Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?'

'If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, young man, yes, of
course I do.'

'Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?'

The professor begins to shake his head, still smiling, as he realizes where the
argument is going. A very good semester, indeed.

'Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even
prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your
opinion, sir? Are you now not a scientist, but a preacher?'

The class is in uproar. The student remains silent until the commotion has
subsided. 'To continue the point you were making earlier to the other student,
let me give you an example of what I mean.'

The student looks around the room. 'Is there anyone in the class who has ever
seen the professor's brain?'
>
The class breaks out into laughter.
>
'Is there anyone here who has ever heard the professor's brain, felt the
professor's brain, touched or smelled the professor's brain? No one appears to
have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable,
demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, with all due
respect, sir.' 'So if science says you have no brain, how can we trust your
lectures, sir?'
>
Now the room is silent. The professor just stares at the student, his face
unreadable. Finally, after what seems an eternity, the old man answers.
>
'I guess you'll have to take them on faith.'
>
'Now, you accept that there is faith, and, in fact, faith exists with life,' the
student continues. 'Now, sir, is there such a thing as evil?'
>
Now uncertain, the professor responds, 'Of course, there is. We see it everyday.
It is in the daily example of man's inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of
crime and violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing
else but evil.'
>
To this the student replied, 'Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not
exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness
and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God.

God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not
have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there
is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light.'

The professor sat down.

If you read it all the way through and had a smile on your face when you
finished, mail to your friends and family with the title 'God vs Science'

Pennies



You always hear the usual stories of pennies on the sidewalk being good luck,
gifts from angels, etc. This is the first time I've ever heard this twist on the
story. Gives you something to think about.
�
Several years ago, a friend of mine and her husband were invited to spend the
weekend at the husband's employer's home. My friend, Arlene, was nervous about
the weekend.. The boss was very wealthy, with a fine home on the waterway, and
cars costing more than her house.

The first day and evening went well, and Arlene was delighted to have this rare
glimpse into how the very wealthy live. The husband's employer was quite
generous as a host, and took them to the finest restaurants. Arlene knew she
would never have the opportunity to indulge in this kind of extravagance again,
so was enjoying herself immensely.�

As the three of them were about to enter an exclusive restaurant that evening,
the boss was walking slightly ahead of Arlene and her husband.

He stopped suddenly, looking down on the pavement for a long, silent moment.�

Arlene wondered if she was supposed to pass him. There was nothing on the ground
except a single darkened penny that someone had dropped, and a few cigarette
butts�

Still silent, the man reached down and picked up the penny.�

He held it up and smiled, then put it in his pocket as if he had found a great
treasure. How absurd! What need did this man have for a single penny? Why would
he even take the time to stop and pick it up?

Throughout dinner, the entire scene nagged at her. Finally, she could stand it
no longer. She casually mentioned that her daughter once had a coin collection,
and asked if the penny he had found had been of some value.�

A smile crept across the man's face as he reached into his pocket for the penny
and held it out for her to see. She had seen many pennies before! What was the
point of this?
'Look at it.' He said. 'Read what it says.' She read the words '� United States
of America �'�

'No, not that; read further.'
�
'One cent?'�
�
�


'No, keep reading.'
'In God we Trust?' 'Yes!'�

'And?'

'And if I trust in God, the name of God is holy, even on a coin.. Whenever I
find a coin I see that inscription. It is written on every single� United States
�coin, but we never seem to notice it! God drops a message right in front of me
telling me to trust Him? Who am I to pass it by? When I see a coin, I pray, I
stop to see if my trust IS in God at that moment. I pick the coin up as a
response to God; that I do trust in Him..�

For a short time, at least, I cherish it as if it were gold. I think it is God's
way of starting a conversation with me. Lucky for me, God is patient and pennies
are plentiful!�

When I was out shopping today, I found a penny on the sidewalk. I stopped and
picked it up, and realized t hat I had been worrying and fretting in my mind
about things I cannot change.]

I read the words, 'In God We Trust,' and had to laugh. Yes, God, I get the
message.�

It seems that I have been finding an inordinate number of pennies in the last
few months, but then, pennies are plentiful!�

And, God is patient..

The best mathematical equation I have ever seen:
1 cross + 3 nails = 4 given

That's the whole gospel message simply stated.�

Take 60 seconds give this a shot! Let's just see if Satan stops this one.

All you do is -

1. Simply say a small prayer for the person who sent you this, (Father God bless
this person in whatever it is that you know he or she may be needing this day.)�
2. Then send it on to five other people. Within hours five people have prayed
for you, and you caused a multitude of people to pray to God for other people �
....
