I thought that there is a setting in EPO to allow clients to update to an
older version of the dat files. I believed this then disables the version
checking of the catalog file when updating.

I havn't really played with 4, so not sure where it would hide in there.

As soon as i update anything in the MR - including changing branches -, catalogversion changes and all DRs become invalid. HQ distrepo will be invalid too....
