Our sump pump is back in regular action. Remember, the Great Lakes have been
below their normal levels for several years now, so the St. Lawrence River
likely has as well. Some lakes have been down over a metre from their normal
levels of the past.
Low water level in a lake or river can mean a higher concentration of poisons
that affect aquatic life. It's like our bodies where lots of water in us dilutes
the poisons we urinate out but less water in us means a higher concentration of
poisons in us and we don't need to pee so often. If low water in our bodies can
kill us through making us susceptible to diseases, it won't do aquatic animals
and plants any good.
Take a vitamin D supplement to compensate for lack of sunshine on your skin. And
think like a duck. (Don't ask me what that means.)
Cheers
