Statewide listing of activists in Texas who oppose the current US war. This list exists to facilitate discussion between various communities in Texas regarding the evaluation of and sometimes joint planning of antiwar strategies and events.
This list is constituted pursuant to the meeting of antiwar activists from around the state of Texas, held just prior to the march and rally in Houston 18 November 2001. The purpose of this list is to facilitate the generation of effective strategy for statewide antiwar action in Texas. However, there are some limitations to what can be posted on this list, so
please be aware of the following restrictions:
1. No posting articles
This is not a general information list about the war, but a
discussion list for the purpose of generating and reviewing
strategy, tactics, etc. for Texas activist groups. It is
the intent of the moderators to keep the traffic on this
list to a minimum, in order to encourage activists to
remain subscribed; keeping such "forwarded" material off
the list is a very good place to start!
2 Keep discussion on topic
This should be self-evident, but the moderators will
intervene when anyone's posting veers off the subject as
above defined. We want to be able to share what's
happening in our different areas that has statewide relevance with one another, and to work towards common strategies and shared events as appropriate. Unrelated topics are not appropriate for this list.
3 Proposals should come from groups, not from individuals
Any proposal made to this list of activists should be made
in the name of a group, and not simply as the brainchild of
a single individual. While some kinds of discussion may
warrant individual input, formal proposals should be in the name of your concurring peace group.
4)Zero tolerance for attacks on individuals or groups on this list.
