Description

This group is for friends and developers of truespel.

Truespel is the first and only "pronounciation guide spelling system." It is designed to replace guides in present dictionaries. English is presently respelled in truespel. It is the best guide for USA accent. Truespel is the first system to allow integration of 1. initial beginners English teaching 2. pronunciation guide 3. translation guides and 4. analysis tools.

The truespel 40-symbol alphabet is explained at www.truespel.com
Sample Spellings: ape=aep, church=cherch, edge=ej, earth=erthh, five=fiev, gone=gaun, cat=kat, loop=luep

The truespel phoneme set could be expanded to represent all languages.  This would establish a common English-based phonetic spelling that would make all languages understandable for those familiar with the most common sound representations in American English.

Truespel establishes a database that is readily usable for spreadsheet analysis of any language spelled in it. To convert traditional English text to truespel use http://truespel.com/en/.  Using the converter, any digitized text on the Net can be converted to pronunciation guide spelling. In fact, the URL converter can take a site address and change it to truespel. Thus, truespel is everywhere.

Truespel (c) 2000 by Tom Zurinskas is freely available to all non-commercial developers and educational users. Contact Tom at truespel@hotmail.com for information on the Truespel CD and study materials.
