The Herndon United Methodist Church has chartered Troop 157 from the Boy Scouts of America. Since 1934, Troop 157 has been serving the youth of the Herndon community. Together with our brother organization, Cub Scout Pack 157, boys from six to eighteen enjoy the lessons of scouting through an increasingly demanding program of adventure and challenge.

MEETINGS
Troop 157 meetings are held on Tuesday nights from 7:15pm to 8:45pm at the Herndon United Methodist Church, directly across from Herndon High School. The last Tuesday of the month is reserved for meetings of the Patrol Leader Committee (PLC)at 7:00PM and Troop Committee (TC) at 7:45PM.

FUNDRAISING
Troop 157 holds one major and one minor fund raising event each year, Christmas tree sales in downtown Herndon, and lemonade sales at the Herndon Festival.

REGISTRATION FEES
The Troop charges a registration fee of $60 for new Scouts to join Troop 157. This fee is collected at the time of initial registration and is used to defer the costs associated with joining the Troop. The costs may include, in addition to registration and other BSA fees, a copy of the Boy Scout Handbook, a Troop neckerchief and a Troop hat. The fee covers the initial registration fee and part of the subscription to Boys Life, the magazine of Scouting.
