Re: [treelesssaddles] Saddleright pad vs. thinline

>>> I'm not familiar with the saddleright pad.  How would you compare it to a
thinline, or would you?

Other than the fact that both seem to offer a good deal of shock
absorption in a relatively thin pad, I don't think they are very much
alike. The Saddlerights typically (always?) have a leather top, and
either a leather or felt bottom side. My husband's Saddleright has a
suede top and a wool felt bottom, making the total pad thickness
something probably less than 1/2". The foam inside is thin, and
can't be removed for washing - not without unstitching the pad anyway.
They do seem to hold up forever although the leather can start to
look worn, and the company offers a discounted upgrade if you ever
want to trade yours in. I really don't know of another pad that's
very much like the Saddlerights.

Well, the Saddleright pad isn't made for treeless saddles, so it provides no spine clearance. The Grandeur Is designed for treeless, so it seems to me that it...

... Actually, it DOES offer spinal clearance... for SOME horses, with SOME saddles, with some riders. I missed this initial post, but I've posted in the past...

How thick are the panels on the Saddleright pad? and is it a stiff or giving pad? I am figuring out a pad to use with my Western Startrekk on my wide mare. I...

The SaddleRight pad is only about 1/4 inch thick, but advertised to carry 300 lbs plus tack. It is a stiffer pad but it moves well with the horse due to the...
