Description

Traditional Astrologer is an international group of astrologers with a particular interest in the study and application of Ancient, Classical, Arabic & Medieval astrology.

The primary focus of this group is the study of Horary, Nativities, Medical, Predictive, Electional and Mundane Astrology, according to Traditional sources. This includes the use of Fixed Stars projected onto the ecliptic, as practiced by William Lilly, but also parans and the reading of Fixed Stars in all applications of the Art, using methods derived from pre-Ptolemaic sources.

Primary Directions, Tertiary Progressions, Firdaria, Egyptian Directions and Arabic Parts are also used extensively.

Any subject of interest to Traditional Astrologers, including Hermetica, Kabbalah, Star Lore and 'Folk' astrology is welcome and encouraged. Asteroids, Centaurs and Hypothetical planets are not. Quite simply, they have no place in Traditional Astrology and discussing them would undermine the intent of this group.

We offer critiques and additional information in response to each other based on sources and experience. These should be cited. If we hold a different point of view, that is both normal and encouraged; but please refrain from both ad hominem attacks and political agendas. Our purpose is to share our knowledge and experience with each other in the spirit of equality to the continued furtherment, promotion and refinement of Tradition Astrology in its various forms. Please don't forget to remove the previous message and tags in the message box before you post your response.
