On Tuesday June 16, 2009, we will be holding the annual Toronto Island Tour des Trees.
This is an evening that features a gentle bike ride from tree to tree where various Urban Foresters from the local Arbor industry, City of Toronto Staff and Island Community tree enthusiasts speak about the various species and hi-light some of the Island tree-gems! The best part is that everyone leaves with some new found knowledge and appreciation of one of the most overlooked resources on our planet. Of course the night is capped with a tree planting sponsored by the City of Toronto Parks Forestry and Recreation and The Canadian TREE Fund.
Where:
Take the 6:15 Boat to Ward's Island
(the tour leaves Ward's Dock at 6:30 sharp! - tour ends 8:30-ish!)
