A webforum - mailing list for posting announcements and sharing information within the Toronto Island community. Purpose and Scope: The Toronto Island Discussion Group has been formed to provide a forum for Island residents and others interested in the Island to do the following things: - celebrate the unique characteristics of island living; - exchange information about life on the island; - post news that is relevant to island life; - promote Toronto Island events. Usability: Use descriptive subject lines to allow quick deletion of messages irrelevant to individual readers. When replying to a message, quote only a small relevant part of the message (in other words, delete most of the message to which you are replying) to lessen confusion, especially for those reading the digest version of the messages. Etiquette: Please ensure that your messages are Safe for kids: this means be careful what you say. When writing your messages, please use the same courtesy that you would show when speaking face-to-face with someone. Flames, insults, and personal attacks will not be tolerated. Moderators will employ a stepped warning system, before imposing an absolute ban. Please do not post anonymous messages. Sign your name on every posting. Keep in mind that some community members do not have access to this electronic medium: distribute announcements through the Newsletter and bulletin board as well.
