History was made in Tonga as a group mostly consisting of senior government officials volunteered to lead the Tongan civil servants in fighting for justice. The Tonga Interim Public Service Association works democratically under the direction of the Tongan civil servants who have agreed to go on strike since July 22nd in response to the injustices of the government salary reform. "Unity and Solidarity" is the main theme of the strike and the Tonga Interim Public Service Association have vowed to uphold this theme despite all threats made by the government.
