This is not a Mensa activity - Hi-IQ membership is not required.
==============================
Welcome to the TI-SocSci group, founded Feb. 18th 1997. It was an offshoot of Thinkers International, which was founded by the late Bill Brown of Richwood, Ohio ("Centre of the Known Universe"). Ät first the focus was history, but it then broadened to the social sciences in general.
The rules are few: respect copyright (do not submit or poach material without permission); respect other subscribers; keep the topics of discussion within the sciences.
ciao,
Raymond Anderson - Johannesburg, South Africa - Moderator
==============================
Below is the initial introduction from Bill Brown...
Greetings, Gentle Folk:
This is an invitation to join a fellowship of highly intelligent people around the globe, an email discussion group. Most of the members are members of Mensa or other Hi-IQ groups but there is no requirement for such. Intelligence is not hard to discern in written material, and some of my most valued members are not associated with any such group. All the "Digest" correspondence is in English, "side" correspondence may be in any language understood. I know only English.
Thinkers International has been described as a "conversation among peers." Few of us have ever met "in the flesh," few of us will ever meet thus, but we meet in cyberspace to discuss whatever we choose to discuss. The rules are few and simple, but I do enforce them. The only penalty is to be dropped from my mailing list.

The old, old ways are, sadly, gone forever. Our parents (if we're old enough) or grandparents who lived through the great depression never bought things until
