The boycott batch... the radical batch...
at the eve of the storm

This was the activist batch that had no graduation rites, as THS administrators feared batch violence, protest and dissent which marked the times...

the batch of adolescents growing in a period of unrest,
the batch that witnessed and actively participated in the surge of the legendary 1970 First Quarter Storm and its fiery expose of imperialism and feudalism as the country's chief evils.

This is the batch that matured ahead of its time, nurtured by the nationalist movement in the streets...

amidst the rising dissent, preceding the reign of terror of martial law which forced thousands of activists to go underground,
amidst the nationalism that led to the construction of nationwide resistance among the peasant and urban poor masses,
amidst massive outpouring of heroism, courage and resistance.

THE batch...

whose classes were disrupted by exploding pillboxes in the THS campus, by blaring shouts in megaphones, by nationalistic chants and by the moving chorus of Bayan Ko, calling the students to leave their classes and attend protest marches,
demonstrations and barricades led by activists loyal to the revolutionary elements
of Kabataang Makabayan (KM) and its breakaway group Samahang Demokratico
ng Kabataan (SDK)...
