Chicago Black Male Police Murder:   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #14 of 14 | Next >

Alecia,

This is exactly what I'm talking about.  It would be interesting to see the number of police murders that occur in the US every year.  There is no arrest, no trial, the cops are the judge, jury and executioner.

What is even more disturbing about these murders is that there is cover-up that never reaches the grand jury.  I can imagine that in smaller towns, it's even worse.

Peace,

Ray

Subject: Chicago Black Male Police Murder:

Chicago Black Male Police Murder:

In Chicago, there was a murder by the police near 63 rd and Evans during the month of October or November. I do not remember the exact date, but will check with community organization that held a protest demonstration the very next day (MORNING) on the spot the killing occurred. The Woodlawn Organization did the organizing.  This is what I heard from community word of mouth:

The black male was spotted by the police and the police ordered "Stop".  The black male had not done anything, except the police  wanted to question him.  The person did not stop and continued to walk away. The police then shot him in the head.

The reason for fatal force:

The police said that the man tried to grab his gun.

Investigative Observation and Reflection:

This is not my city and I was visiting relatives the weekend this event occurred, However I talked with my cousin in detail, who does live in this neighborhood.  She spoke passionately, while on the verge of tears describing how the police constantly harnesses citizens in this area including those standing in front of their homes.  My cousin ( Deborah Brown, 36 ) interestingly said" where can we go to get away from the police, this is where we live the only place we have to be free."

Final comment:

When did shooting people in the head become a proper police procedure?
