Idrak (Grasp, Prehension)
http://www.untiredwithloving.org/idrak.html
Idrak is one the most difficult terms of the Islamic and Sufi
literatures. The usage and the semantics long lost amongst the
Muslim readers and even the scholars of Islam. However no matter
which book of Islam or Sufism you may open this term is used with
serious implications impacting the spiritual meanings.
In this presentation four concepts are provided dating back into the
archives of the Islamic Philosophy and Sufism e.g. Raazi and Mulla
Sadraa. However in order to widen the readership and understanding,
some of the concepts of the Alfred North Whitehead's "Process and
Reailty" is also introduced. The two languages merged into one
coherent presentation, by the Will of Allah, bridging the Sufism
with the Metaphysics.
Towards the end of the presentation a small section is provided
showing a glimpse of the above language dealing with the Kalima
(Divine Words) e.g. Dhikr or Qur'an. This treatment shows the
difference between the Dhikr and regular human speech.
Idrak as well as Wujud (Being) are the same vectors, each pointing
to different objects `here' and `there', both Primordial without
which no universe could exist.
