Here is a summary I received from Edi Bilimoria, a long-time member of TS.

CURRENT INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
*

*"Summary
*

There is hard evidence concerning the following:

1. Radha Burnier did NOT start the electioneering process.

Elvira Carbonell's letter, which was sent out, by email, on 19 December 2007
to the members of the General Council of the TS, not only attempting to
pre-empt Mrs. Burnier's candidacy but definitely announcing that Dr Algeo
had agreed to accept nominations. The President was subsequently entitled to
write on 12 March 2008 to the *same* Council members and present her views,
essentially that any elected President should reside substantially at Adyar.
This letter was sent by ordinary mail in her personal (not official)
letterhead. This is not electioneering.

That Betty Bland's claim (and other peoples' mistaken ideas) that the
President started the electioneering process is therefore blatant nonsense.

2. The letter written by the French National Board is defamatory,
inaccurate, subjective, biased, and full of hearsay.

3. The President's supposedly inadequate state of mind has been used for
barefaced electioneering purposes whereas hard medical evidence plus written
eye witness testimonials from several members of the President's performance
at Convention and her many recent activities on duty and on tour indicates
the contrary.

4. Such "concern" for the President's health done under the thin guise of a
"duty" to inform members "for the sake of the future welfare of our
Society".

5. Lobbying and electioneering activists have presented just one side of the
story – their erroneous account of the President's health, but not mentioned
any facts on the other side.

6. That to the best of my knowledge, John Algeo has not informed members
about the true state of affairs. If he *did* know the clean bill of health
issued by the President's doctors then surely he should have informed the
membership to quell rumours and 'fear-mongering'. Conversely, if he *did not
know* the true and proper state of affairs then I would expect him to have
attempted to curtail those who were promoting him on the grounds of
misinformation and lies. Remaining silent is not acceptable. At the very
least, as Vice-President, he should defend the President from
unsubstantiated and rabid attack as by the French National Board. I can see
no evidence that he has taken such steps.

7. That John Algeo is most actively campaigning – through others and via his
website – Hindi page added on 23 April 2008. On 11 April 2008, Betty Bland
issued a personal letter to the American TS *before* the ballot papers were
sent out recommending that 'for the good of the whole that the leadership
pass smoothly to John Algeo'.
*

Conclusion
*

I am not campaigning on behalf of the President. My purpose is to make it
crystal clear that this election is founded on a basis of lies which the
outrage from right round the world, including as a minimum, America,
Australia, Brazil, Greece, India and Slovenia plus numerous high-standing
members of the Society amply demonstrates. Numerous members will have voted
– innocently – in this election based on a totally mistaken perception of
the reality.

A MUCH HIGHER STANDARD OF ETHICS IS REQUIRED – WE ARE A TRUTH-LOVING AND
TRUTH-SEEKING SOCIETY, NOT A POLITICAL PARTY

Fraternally
Edi D. Bilimoria"
