Hello All...<br><br>Just wanted to share the news

<br>--------------------------------------------------<br><br>US readers might
like to check out the current issue
of Spirituality and Health Magazine (Fall edition )
which is a real labyrinth "special". Featured are a 10
page spread of photographs (including those of many
labyrinth designers) from my new book, "Labyrinths: Ancient
paths of wisdom and peace" plus a fascinating article
on finger labyrinths by Melissa Gayle West.
<br><br>Also, for those who've been asking, "Labyrinths Ancient
paths of wisdom and peace" has finally made it onto the
Discovery Store website: <a href=http://shopping.discovery.com
target=new>http://shopping.discovery.com</a>
(click on books and cds and then search under
"labyrinths") and on 1-800-889-9950. After a long delay, due to
a website redesign, I am happy to announce that it
is finally available there. Please note that it is
not available (apart from me) on any other outlet or
website. The book (see review by Robert Ferre earlier in
this forum) has more than 200 color photographs of
modern and ancient labyrinths and includes the work of
photographers Cindy Pavlinac and Jeff Saward, as well as that
of many labyrinth designers and artists around the
world. <br><br>( Posted by Virginia Westbury on 1

Clarification.... (from Helen Curry): <br><br>"Sorry, David, in my
excitement I leapt to the conclusion that this was the
newstand version of Time. It turns out that it is a
publication of Time Magazine that is called Time for Families
and is sent out to thousands of household across the
country but is not available on the newstand. It looks
exactly like the regular magazine with the same cover,
features and ads but it includes an extra section at the
back with articles about family matters. The labyrinth
story is a full page in that section."

Namaste<br>I really hope to be able to join you
on the next "Purple Moon" labyrinth. It sounds like
it was a wonderful inspirational/ spiritual
experience. Keep up the great work of bringing the word of
the Labyrinth to us all. It is a great meditation
tool that has the power to bring us love, inner peace
and enlightenment thru the walk of prayerful silence
that helps to instill a calming peace into the noise
of our daily lives.
Hello All..<br><br>Below is part of a great
article from the Veriditas website...<br><br>The
Labyrinth in Jail? Christine Rodgers reports on "free
space" in the Monterey County Jail in Salinas,
California.
<br><br>Joachim<br><br>=================<br>Visions<br><br>At a time when coming
together seems so critically
important for our well-being, people are separating
themselves more than ever before. The idea of "neighborhood"
as our parents and grandparents might have
experienced it is fast disappearing. Gated communities are on
the rise. Even the media encourages this kind of
division, with the title "The Monsters Who Live Next Door"
on the cover of one of the weekly magazines just
days after the Columbine High School tragedy. Nowhere
is this more apparent that in the number of prisons
that now cover so much of our landscape.<br><br>And
yet, there are people of faith and vision who work
inside these institutions - endeavoring to overcome the
ways we attempt to disconnect from each other. One of
them is the Reverend Peggy Thompson, who serves as
Chaplain at the Monterey County Jail in Salinas,
California, and is also a trained Veriditas labyrinth
facilitator.<br><br>=== to view the full article please go

A group of pioneers and risk takers in Whiting,
NJ at the Christian Reformed Church had their first
Labyrinth experiance on Tuesday. The Pastors and Deacons
hosted a Labyrinth Walk using the Medical Center of
Ocean County's Labyrinth.<br>I brought the portable
Labyrinth and then stayed to help them set it up. It was
available from 1-4PM. Many wonderful people came for the
new experiance. I had the privilage to listen to
several of them as they shared with me about
their<br>spiritual experiance. Many did not know what to expect but
where surprized by joy and peace as they where walking
the Labyrinth.<br>The Church even gave a donation to
the MCOC Labyrinth Project, which will help our grass
roots project to continue to grow. A warm thank you
goes to CRC of Whiting,NJ for their vision and courage
to try something new. By the way most of these risk
takers are over 70 years old!
Hello All...<br><br>Just wanted to share a few
reflections on the Labyrinth gathering and drum circle at the
Purple Moon Labyrinth in Flanders, NJ last Fri
evening.<br><br>Thank you Leana Moonspinner and Carol House from
Labyrinth Ways for settin up this event.<br><br>The
Moonspinner's home is the only home located on a cul de sac and
an 11 cuircuit labyrinth is painted on it.<br><br>I
arrived somewhat early, so I could take my time setting
up my drums and singing bowls.<br><br>Candles were
placed on the lines of the labyrinth and it really
looked great.<br><br>This labyrinth event was one that
is part of a whole series of gatherings set up by
Carol. Her group, "Labyrinth Ways" sponsors monthly
"Labyrinth Pilgimages" to various labyrinths in the area. (
See club calendar )<br><br>People started to arrive
around 8:00 pm - altogether I would say over 50 or so.
<br><br>We started playing the crystal singing bowls, and
later the drums, while people started walking the
labyrinth. There were not as many drums as I had hoped for,
but that was OK, since things don't have to be one
way or another. <br><br>I played my recorders, added
some accents with the tuning forks, and later in the
evening some people came along who really seemed to enjoy
chanting with the singing bowls.<br><br>Walking the
labyrinth was a very good experience for me. It is hard to
put in words - but it certainly cleared my spirit.
<br><br>I am in the process of setting up a website for
Carol's labyrinth initiative and will post the link to
the club as soon as it is up and running.<br><br>Have
a nice day everyone, and hope to see you at some of
the future events.<br><br>Joachim
Our walk on Sunday at the Medical Center of Ocean
County was very special. It was inspiring to see
healthcare professionals and community members walking the
path together.<br>Our Labyrinth helps us to address
the "softer side of healthcare" in this bottomline
driven culture.<br>Please continue to pray for God's
blessings on this tender endeaver in this challenging
environment.

Hello All... <br><br>Just wanted to share a few
thought on the New Jersey Labyrinth Project.<br><br>The
webpresence of the project is pretty well set up by now.. we
have links with the Labyrinth Society itself, as well
as quite a few other sites and mailinglist - Of
course it is always good to increase our presence on
more of the local spiritual and healing related
sites.<br><br>Thus if you feel good about whats happenening here and
would like to share our links with any websites that
could benefit through the project, please feel free to
do so.<br><br>Still quite a few members of the old
Yahoo CLub New Jersey Labyrinth Society haven't
transferred to this club yet, but hopefully will be doing so
soon.<br><br>As mentioned in an earlier post, the purpose of the
club is twofold:<br><br>1. to serve as a forum and
clearinghouse for labyrinth related information and events in
New Jersey - (looking forward to see some of you at
some of upcoming events) - this is really the main
objective.<br><br>2. to serve as a discussion forum for labyrinth
related reflections. This though is a secondary purpose,
and since this procect just has been launched
recently, club membership will take some time to grow. Thus
there may not be that much disussion taking place
initially. After all the labyrith experience is not about
discussion but getting in touch with one's own inner self as
one partakes in the labyrinth walking
meditation.<br><br>Yet discussion can be good and (untill the time that
it will transpire at this yahoo club) I would like
to offer this link to the discussion forum of the
labyrinth
society:<br><br><a href=http://www.toriffic.co.uk/forums/tls/forum/index.html
target=new>http://www.toriffic.co.uk/forums/tls/forum/index.html</a><br><br>For
those who would like to be involved in the
exchange of labyrinth related ideas.. this is the place to
be. I will also place this link with you club links
for easy access in the future.<br><br>Everyone -
please have a nice summer - and hopefully see you at
some of the
events.<br><br>Joachim<br><a href=http://members.aol.com/BeTru/net.html
