Fran & all club members,
I went to Carol
Middleton's web site & found most all of the information that
I needed on Drury Malone & his family
connections(maybe all the way back to Ireland). She has done a lot
of research on the Malone's & related families & is
to be commended for her work, also I'm sure most if
not all of you know of Randolph Malone's book on the
Malone's & allied families. He also has done a tremendous
job on his research. Thanks Fran, for giving me
Carol's web address.Tex_75706
I would just like to pass on to all club
members
that club member Tex_75706 was connected to
his
ancestors in Virginia because of his message that
he
left here. I had recognized the name Drury
Malone
from queries on the genforum and from the
the
information on Carol Middleton's web site. I
passed on the
information to him and hopefully he
has some good news in
return.
I myself broke through a 12 year wall and
found the births of my great grandparents Sugrue
as
well as their wedding date. Hopefully that
will be
posted soon, it's been a hectic spring.
Keep
checking and if you have any updates
pass them on.
Have a good weekend or week depending when you
read
this.

with
additions and some changes. We hope that that
you have
found something or somebody that has been
a help to
you.
Thank you for your patience while we were
inactive and for sticking with us. The changes
when
done will make it easier for you.
y father's family is from Tennessee; and before
that North Carolina. The farthest I can trace back is
William and Rachel Malone from North Carolina...circa
1790/1800. There is a book out called Malone and Associated
families that may have some information that may be useful
to you. You can leave me a message if you would like
to correspond at robman40@....
ello, I finally have the correct names of my

otty, e-mail me at marqupj@... and I'll put you in touch with my wife's
uncle, John Malone, who lives in the NYC - L.I. area, and his brother Kevin in
Yorktown Hgts., NY.
am happy to be a new Malone member. I'm looking
for Malone's in the NYC area. My Grandfather, Edwin
Aloysious Malone married Cletus Conway. They had two
children, Edwin Jr, (my Father) and Margaret. I have very
little information.I believe Edwin was the Administrator
for the Seaview TB Sanitarium in Staten Island in the
early to mid 1900's. I think there may be some
relatives in Long Island. It's quite a mystery. Is anybody
out there? Thanks.Dotty Malone
y wife's mom is a Malone and her brother is Brendan Malone, assistant coach for
the New York Knicks of the NBA. I'll have to check the "upline". Get back to you
later.
igh - we have Malones in our family, as my
mother-in-law in Catherine Malone, and her brother Brendan is
the assistant coach of the New York Knicks. They have
two other brothers, John and Kevin. I'll have to ask
my wife for more details on the upline though!
Cheers
ran, thank you. I will look up the SSI and
search for Mary. Hopefully when I get the copy of Dad's
birth certificate, I will have more data to work
with....my Lenahan/Malone family was a big one...I keep
hoping I will meet up with a cousin in Pennsylvania who
is also searching...
Question: do you know how
far back the SSI reaches? Would it cover the early
1880s? I am a beginner at the genealogy game and just
learning my way around...
Shelia
ran, thank you so much for taking the time to
answer my query. Yes, I found my father Milton's SSI
information on the Web. I didn't send for the record because
I didn't think his parents names would be included.
My father was estranged from his Pennsylvania family
and all are now dead, making finding info difficult.
I have sent for a copy of my father's birth
certificate to find out what my grandparents first names
were, and weeks later I am still waiting for it. Now
that I know that the SSI record would have my father's
parents' information on it, too, I will request a copy of
that, as well. Thanks again! Shelia
helia

You may have this informtion
already but in
case you don't here it is.
In the
Social Security Death Index there is
only one Milton
Lenahan listed. He was born on
Feb. 24, 1919 and he
died in May 1978. The last
benefit paid was zip
code 48204 which is for
Detroit, Mich. His Social
Security number was
issued in PA before 1951. If you
need the address
to obtain the application that he
filled out let
me know by giving me an email

Fran
i Shelia
I found a Mary Lenahan that died in
Wilkes
Barre, PA and was wondering if it could be
your
grandmother. Your original message had an est.
birth year
of 1884 and the one I found is a little
younger
than that. The one I found was born on
Sept. 29,
1887 and she died in Nov. 1966. I found
this in the
Social Security Death Index. If you
think this is a
possibility let me know and I'll
give you the address to
write to and the information needed so you can get the
a copy of
the application she filled out for her
social
security number. It would have her parents names
on
it.
Fran
ove this site. I am hoping for a miracle. My
grandmother was either Molly or Mary Malone. She was married
to Vincent Lenahan. Her approximate birth date is
1884. She lived in the Wilkes Barre or Sugarnotch
Pennsylvania area. Children:
Milton, Francis, Joseph,
Bernard, Thomas, Kate, Mary and Margaret. My brother and I
were separated from this side of the family as small
children and all my aunts, uncles, and my father, Milton,
have been dead for at least 20 years. Does any of this
sound familiar to anyone out there. I love seeing the
family crest and the history of the name. I recently
traced my Irish "Mooney" surname back to 1741. Hoping an
angel out there can help with my Malone roots. God love
ya! Shelia
hanks for joining or stopping by The Malone
Family Club. We are working on
more updates and
will post them as soon as possible so keep
checking back.
ur club founder, Fran Malone, contacted my
shortly after I joined and posted my message and asked
that I be more specific regarding my relatives. My
Great-Grandmother was Bridget Malone who I estimate to have born
around 1870. Her family was from Philadelphia. She
married Michael Horan and they lived in Pittston, Pa.
They owned a saloon--he bartended--she cooked. They
had daughters and a son, James--who is my
grandfather. James married Mary Casey (Holland) who was the
daughter of Rose Gibbons. Looking for any information on
my family.

Fran has done a wonderful job on
her own web page. Anyone who has not checked out her
sign-in register, should, it very interesting. Thank you,
Fran for starting the Malone club.
'm new at this geneaolgy search, so hope I can
find some long-lost Malone relatives. My father was
Harvey Nelson Malone from Weatherford, TX and his father
was William Harv Malone. I think some of the Malone
family lived in Tennessee/Virginia at one time. Any
clues?
think some of my Dad's (Harvey Nelson Malone
from Weatherford, TX) family might have lived in West
Virginia and/or Tennessee at one time. My grandfather's
name was William Harv Malone. I'm new at this and
don't really have much information on the subject.
'm researching my husband's MALONE family who
currently resides in Perry Co. IN. I have traced them to
John MALONE (b 1794 - d 1850 Wood Co., VA) and his
wife Elizabeth. Of their 9 children who were born in
counties that became WV, William (b 1828 - d 1897 Perry
Co. IN) married Mary POWELL and moved to OH then IN.
They had 8 children along the way: Joshua (b 1869 - d
1914) is our link who married Sarah WILGUS in 1888. Any
connections out there?
i
sorry for the delay in answering and I
hope
that you do check back. If you can email me
at
fran_malone@... with what you have already
I can give you some
ideas on where to go from
there. Dates and names if
you have them

Fran
e happened upon this site while beginning a
search for sites related to my maiden name which is, as
I'm sure you would never have guessed, Malone. I was
interested to find in the history of the name much reference
made to St. John. I was also interested to see several
John Malones listed, as this is a common name in my
family, but I never knew why. I do know that many of the
Malones to whom I am related live in Gettysburg, PA,and
have since the 1700's. The old family dairy farm was
just sold there last year, I've been told, due to the
death of my great-uncle. If you have any ideas as to
how I can begin to look into the family's past,
please let me know.

Thanks,TMN
reeting everyone. Welcome to our club and to
those who join Thank you. Please let us know about you
and how your family search is going. We hope that
this club will help all of us fill some on the voids
that our family histories have.
