Ritual and Picnic

As has been our tradition, we will gather together to greet Our Father the Sun
under the Obelisk of Thutmose III (more popularly known as Cleopatra's Needle)
in Central Park.

Afterwards, we will share our Solar Feast of the Times (Sub Umbra Alarum
Phalli*) in the form of a picnic.
Please bring food and beverage for yourselves. If you'd like to bring a little
extra to share with your Brothers and Sisters, that would be nice.

We will meet in front of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (1000 Fifth Avenue [82nd
street & 5th Ave]) between 12:15-12:30pm, then proceed to the Ritual Site at
12.45pm.

The Rites of Eleusis are a series of seven public invocations or rites written
by Aleister Crowley, each centered on one of the seven classical planets of
antiquity. They were dramatically performed by Aleister Crowley, Leila Waddell
(Laylah), and others  at Caxton Hall, London in October and November, 1910.


The Rite of Sol will be the fourth ritual in the performance of the complete
series of Aleister Crowley's Rites of Eleusis presented under the auspices of
Tahuti Chapter Rose Croix.
The cycle of rituals has been distributed among a number of East Coast O.T.O.
bodies.

The cycle began with the performance of the Rite of Saturn in January at Knights
Templar Oasis in the valley of Salem, Massachusetts, followed by the performance
of the Rite of Jupiter
in February at Abrahadabra Oasis in the valley of Portland, Maine, and the
performance of the Rite of Mars at Mithras Encampment in the valley of Wyndham,
Connecticut.

We invite everyone to come and join us in this fantasy ritual celebration and
partake of the opportunity to enjoy the fellowship of our Thelemic Community.

the Book of the Law have fallen short on one essential point: none of creators
of the systems have demonstrated any genuine authority. The authority required
has been concealed in the letters of page 60 of the Liber L holograph all along,
waiting for the Child of the Prophet to utilize them in a demonstration of
power: that day has come.

nah mate, just found you incredibly and consistently partisan, while the
system you prefer is elegant but lacks the down and dirty qualities
sorcerers require (Austin Spare did more without numerical values). All
rather reminiscent of the snobbery of Neoplatonists towards the goetes
(from whom theurgy borrowed everything that made their methods effective).

oh, and you can keep the alleged grand criteria of 'Authority'
(suspiciously reminiscent of charter and copyright BS which hasn't served
thelema well)

but don't worry, I quit as EQ spokesman some time back - the whole issue is
dull as ditchwater, and will not revitalise the 93 current or anything else.

Qabala systems over the last decade, but all of my criticisms were valid as
well as necessary in order to clear the way for what lay ahead.

All efforts at finding the English gematria system that unlocks the secrets
of the Book of the Law have fallen short on one essential point: none of
creators of the systems have demonstrated any genuine authority. The
authority required has been concealed in the letters of page 60 of the Liber
L holograph all along, waiting for the Child of the Prophet to utilize them
in a demonstration of power: that day has come.

This morning I was elated to receive the contents expressed succinctly and
with clarity from the King of the USA OTO (Fr. Sabazius) indicating, through
the vehicle of the Agape organ of the Grand Lodge herein and read out to me
by my guru, that the scripture of the Beast would be taken seriously and as
was intended by he that brought it into the world (Aleister Crowley),
emphasizing the Commentaries and in the shadow of The Comment with attention
to framing them as instructive as compared to expositing delimited and
cultic significance based on personal preferences within the context of the
order and its ecclesiastic catechism.

I see this as a symbolic symptom of immense responsibility and a good sign
for at least the (c)OTO of the USA, insofar as the order is a religious
body, that it takes its Prophet seriously and regards his scripture as a
fortifying and guiding light to its own promulgation of the Law of Thelema.
As such, these subsidiary statements (the brief and the twin reflections)
constitute an imperative supplement on the order of the Talmud, the Hadith,
the Old Testament, the Dhammapada, the Inner Chapters of Chuangtse, or the
Elaboration on the Gospel of Satan, in relation to the original and an
apprehension of meaning with respect to its contents.

I have within the past year been putting an emphasis on constructing a bare
bones disclosing of said supplements online and free to be found for the
aspiring Thelemic, primarily because they have been so slow to emerge as
serious presentations via computer, and their meaning has too often been
forgotten by zealous Thelemic individuals content to issue pestilential
dictation on the Real Meaning of Scripture and what may be derived therefrom
in pursuit of the Thelemic life. I went so far as to write a brief essay on
scriptural interpretation and the importance of these documents for a
journal published by a friend ('The Fenris Wolf', edited by the wonderful
Carl Abrahamsson) at the end of 2011, and look forward to seeing that emerge
any time now. This resonant essay by Fr. Sabazius, with contribution of
content or form from the admirable hands of Hymenaeus Beta, Dathan
Biberstein, Kjetil Fjell, Angel Lorenz, Davy Patton, and Joseph Thiebes,
brings joy to my heart and a smile to my face as I write to you during the
New Year and in the approach to Celebrated Days.

Hi folks,

I've been meaning to just introduce myself, etc., but have literally been so
busy with completing my book that I've wound up neglecting everything around
me.   Some of you may have seen my recent essay "Grid Sigil Magick in Starfire,"
and I recently did another article for Fenris Wolf 5 "Sigils and Extra
Dimensionality."   If anyone is interested I've reproduced them on my web site
specifically at the bottom of the page, http://www.gridmagick.com/news.html.
Like everything my web site has been sorely neglected and badly in need of an
overhaul.  You may find it necessary to magnify the essays in order to render
them readable.  I've also given some details about the book on that page.  I've
been flattered by the fantastic job Anthony Naylor has done on the book at
Mandrake press Ltd.  My object was to create a grimoire bolstered by scholarly
hard-core research.  Only time and readers will determine whether I've managed
to pull it off or not.


I'm really curious to see what anyone makes of my work.  I enjoy a good argument
so don't be timid and criticism is my cup of tea.  I've got a pretty thick skin
at this state of the game.

Bonfire night is coming, and anybody who can do magic can be of great help in
preventing firework accidents. When I was at school, I saw a film of victims of
firework accidents which upset my stomach so much I had to go outside, where a I
found a crowd of other pupils similarly sickened. One girl on the film had the
flesh on her thigh burnt down to the bone.

If you have a crystal ball, a simple technique is to concentrate on somebody
about to have an accident inside the crystal ball, and then pray that he or she
will take care, and make the cross over her with your wand. You can repeat the
prayer using a different sephirot for each prayer.

Try to keep this up as long as possible.
