The Albany Knit Wits are a group of lovely young, hip (mostly) women, (and the occaisional male), who like to get together, in watering holes, coffee shops and concert halls, to knit.

We started out with two knitters at the Palais Royale (pre-smoking ban!) and have rocked the town since.

We are currently knitting at Elda's on Lark Street, on Thursdays, from 7:30 till around 9:30/10. But we are open to suggestions.

We are a group of friends who knit fairly regularly. Drop us a note if you would like to join us! This online group itself is private, and is not your typical knitting list serve. We usually reserve it for notices, discussions and other group fun, but not for forwards, political notices, and that sort of thing.

As a group, we do not give lessons at our meetups. If you are interested in getting lessons (for a small fee, or a glass of wine), please drop the moderator a note and she will connect you with a willing knitter. We come to knit and socialize on these nights.

Be forewarned, we do curse on occasion, and talk about whatever is on our minds. We do not censor ourselves, so our group is not for the squeemish. We don't aim to make other uncomfortable, but it has happened in the past.
