Hey, I'm looking for clear images of the Comet Pierce story from Red Raven
Comics #1... but all I have is microfiche. Can anyone help me with a clearer

Where is the next issue of The Twelve? It's the only Marvel series I
get (or perhaps better I should say "used to get") and I've not seen a
new issue in months and months and months and no new issue seems
forthcoming.

It's really annoying. Marvel won't miss my money much, but it's a shame
that a fan of 40 years should find his last tango with a company so
unsatisfying as this. Sheesh.

With twelve you might get eggroll, but you sure don't get a new comic.

Anyone know the story?

Guys and Gals,
I am trying to start up a Western PBEM game. Everyone would play using
characters from Western Comics from all publishers from the 1930s to
today, though emphasis is more on the golden age characters.

Come join if interested in playing or just lurking and reading the
golden age stories that are posted.

You too Dean. I for one have been very, very quiet of late, but I still

It was nice to have an inexpensive color reprint of the Rockman story.
I hope they do another reprint set just so they can do the second
Wolverton story ... I don't much care who else they feature.

I had already seen the sketches online, I wouldn't have picked up the
comic just for them, but I enjoyed the artwork and it was nice to have
them all in print and in one place.

"Six Forgotten Warriors" Chapter One
Original Airdate: Friday, September 19, 1997
Part one begins at night with an old man named Keane Marlow who goes
to S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, where he meets up with Nick Fury. Keane
asks why Fury called him out of retirement and Fury replies that May
Parker, someone Keane knew in the past, is keeping a dangerous secret.
The episode later shifts to Peter, Mary Jane, now married since the
events of the previous episode, May and Anna Watson are in May's
house, which May has been wanting to sell. Peter then says that the
house shouldn't be sold as it was where his late Uncle Ben and May
had raised him since his parents died mysteriously. May then looks in
a newspaper that confirms that Peter's deceased parents have been
accused of being traitors to Russia. She then acts weird and Peter,
Mary Jane and Anna take May to rest, making Peter suspicious about
May's weirdness. Meanwhile in Russia, a man is kidnapped by a white-
haired woman named Silver Sable
Back in New York, Keane Marlow surprisingly makes a visit to May's
house and May introduces Keane to Peter, explaining Keane was an old
friend of Uncle Ben before he died. Later Peter goes into the attic
to pack up some stuff, when he finds his parents' old passports. He
shows it to Aunt May, who orders Peter to put them away. But is
suspicious and dresses up in his Spider-Man costume and eavesdrops on
May and Keane's conversation that May must tell something Peter
sooner or later. Spider-Man then leaves, wondering what May and Keane
have been talking about.
Meanwhile, the Kingpin and Landon are talking about going to Russia
where that involves a machine called the Doomsday Device, in which no
one in the world, except for the Red Skull who has been presumed dead
ever since the end of World War II, knows what the device does. And
in order to get help, the Kingpin will hire the Insidious Six. Since
Mysterio died in "The Haunting of Mary Jane", Kingpin introduces
Mysterio's replacement, the Vulture.
Spider-Man sneaks into S.H.I.E.L.D. and overhears Nick Fury
discussing to one of his employees that Richard and Mary Parker were
traitors in Russia. Right then the Insidious Six are there to break
out Chameleon. Spider-Man confronts the villains, but the Vulture
eventually knocks out Spider-Man long enough to free the Chameleon
and escape. The following morning at the Daily Bugle, Peter appeals
to Jameson that he is aware that Spider-Man is going to Russia to
take over the world, while Peter is secretly just going there so he
can understand why his parents were considered traitors. Peter
promises to come back with pictures and accompanying him is Robbie
himself.
The next morning, Peter is suspicious about Robbie leaving so early
in the morning. Spider-Man follows him and at night, Robbie is
invited in by a mysterious old man after he shows him a ring. After a
while Silver Sable and the Wildpack attack the home where Robbie and
the old man are. Spider-Man comes in to defeat the Wildpack but the
gang knocks out the hero and Robbie, taking the old man. But before
leaving they implanted a bomb near Spider-Man and Robbie To Be

Six Forgotten Warriors, Chapter II: "Unclaimed Legacy"
Original Airdate: Friday, September 26, 1997
Part two begins right after part one, but before the bomb could blow
Spider-Man gets Robbie and swings off. The next day, Peter and Robbie
find a Russian cop that knew Peter's parents. As they ask the cop's
wife about information the Russian cop, Rhienholdt Kragov, threatens
that Peter and Robbie will be arrested if they don't leave. Peter and
Robbie do as Kragov says to avoid trouble but Spider-Man follows him
because he suspects him. He follows him and finds that Chameleon had
tied-up Kragov and was imitating him. Then rest of the Insidious Six
attack Spider-Man. He is defeated and knocked out in battle, and
taken to Kingpin when he recovered. The Kingpin revealed his plot to
use the Doomsday Device created by the Red Skull. Then the Wildpack
attacks when the Kingpin is done and knocks Spider-Man and all the
villains unconscious, taking them away.
Later on, Spider-Man, Kingpin and the Insidious Six later wake up to
find themselves caught in titanium bars by the Wildpack. Silver Sable
explained that someone in the Insidious Six betrayed the Kingpin.
Then a mysterious figure, wearing a black mask comes, but the Kingpin
brroke out of the bars and unmasked the figure, having the face
revealed to be the Red Skull's. But the Kingpin takes off the Red
mask revealing it to be Kragov. The entire place was then suddenly
falling apart, thanks to a bomb. Kragov fled while Spider-Man, the
Wildpack, the Kingpin and the Insidious Six fled in a different
direction. They all eventually meet up on top of a roof where they
would prepare to fight. But Sable broke it up and everyone realized
they were near a radioactive factory. After a few words, they all
left before getting poisoned.
Then Peter and Robbie get back to New York that has Jameson yell at
Peter because he failed to give him pictures. However, Peter came
back to Aunt May with evidence his parents weren't traitors at all.
But at the plane ride home, Robbie mentioned to Peter he will take
him to an old man who knows about the Six Forgotten Warriors... To Be

Six Forgotten Warriors, Chapter III: "Secrets of the Six"
Original Airdate: Friday, October 3, 1997
Peter and Robbie go to the old man's, Omar Mosley's, house, who
Robbie says knows the story of the Six Forgotten Warriors. Omar
explains that the Six Forgotten Warriors were once called the Six
American Warriors. It all started during World War II when a group of
American scientists created a formula that would make several
superhuman soldiers that would fight against the Nazis. Their first
test subject was soldier Steve Rogers, who was a weak, young man but
when he took the formula, he instantly became a muscular man. He was
handed over a suit and shield, in which the scientists named him
Captain America. But unfortunately, the scientists couldn't continue
their research, as one of the Nazis had blown up the lab they needed
to continue the experiments - it was also an explosion that killed
the key scientist. However, the remnants were enough to create at
least five more superhumans. But their powers were temporary. So they
were given rings that would keep their powers permanent, as long as
they kept them on. They became the Six American Warriors with a
little addition to Captain America. In all of the members in the Six
American Warriors, Captain America was the only real superhuman, as
his powers did not come from a ring like the five rest. Omar's
connection to the disbanded team was that he was a sidekick to the
deceased Black Marvel, another member of the team.
Anyways, how the team was disbanded was when they infiltrated the
evil Red Skull's hideout near the end of the second World War,
Captain America and the Red Skull accidentally got stuck in a vortex
machine at the same time, in which no one knew how to get them back.
The only thing remaining of the real superhuman was his shield and
the team decided to retire, whereas the Black Marvel died.
Meanwhile, the Kingpin was torturing all of his Insidious Six members
to find out which one of them was the traitor. Unfortunately, none of
the members said they did it and the Kingpin decided to get back on
the situation later again. Right then, he decided to send the members
on a mission to steal the five rings the five members in the Six
Forgotten Warriors used in the past so they could be used to activate
the Doomsday Device.
At Bob Frank's house, who was formerly the Whizzer, the fastest
member in the Six Forgotten Warriors, was showing his presumed
grandson how to draw a superhero, the Rhino came in to attack and
find out where the Whizzer's ring was.
Meanwhile, the former Thunderer, a superhuman in the Six Forgotten
Warriors who had a super loud screech to throw off his enemies, was
attacked by Dr. Octopus and the Chameleon so they could find his ring
as well.
Spider-Man was swinging away to make sure another ring wouldn't be
stolen, as 2/5 of them have already been stolen. The superhero then
spotted an old lady flying in the air, being chased by the Vulture.
Spider-Man knew it was Miss America, another member in the Six
Forgotten Warriors, who had the ability to defy gravity. In other
words, she can fly. Unfortunately, the Vulture caught Miss America,
also known as Madelyne Joyce, off guard and while the Vulture flew
off with the ring, Madelyne was falling down towards the ground with
her life. Luckily, Spider-Man caught her and promised he will get her
ring back, referring to her as Miss America before swinging off.
At Aunt May's house, while Keane Marlow was visiting again, the
Scorpion and Shocker attacked, knowing the Destroyer's ring, another
member in the Six Forgotten Warriors, was somewhere in May's house.
Spider-Man eventually battles Scorpion and Shocker and then having
the battle taken outside. The Destroyer then appeared and joined on
Spider-Man's side. Unfortunately, the Scorpion and Shocker took it
while the Destroyer and Spider-Man were off guard, escaping and
leaving the Destroyer weak. Spider-Man and Mary Jane Parker then took
the Destroyer into Aunt May's home for him to rest. He then revealed
himself to be Keane and explained his origin. Before he became the
Destroyer, Keane was best friends with Peter's deceased Uncle Ben (as
explained in Chapter One). Keane was selected to be one of the only
five superhumans to be in the Six American Warriors with Captain
America. Keane was also married to someone who knew he was a
superhero. What the former superhero didn't understand was that Ben
wasn't a hero and yet, he married May Reily. And finally, during a
bank robbery, the Destroyer was there to witness it with his wife. He
went to stop the crooks but the thugs used gun fire to try to stop
the person who would put them to justice. Unfortunately, even though
the Destroyer wasn't killed, Keane Marlow's wife was caught and
killed in the crossfire.
Despite the fact that Kean wasn't an official superhuman, his powers
would turn on and off occasionally without the rings, along with the
rest of the four "fake" superhumans. He agreed to help Spider-Man get
back the 4/5 rings that were stolen... To Be Continued...

Six Forgotten Warriors, Chapter IV: "The Six Fight Again"
Original Airdate: Friday, October 10, 1997
As former sidekick of the late Black Marvel, Omar had hidden the
Black Marvel's ring after his death. Now knowing that the Insidious
Six have already stolen most of the rings, he certainly knew they
would come after this. Robbie then came, aware that the ring would be
stolen. Omar shown where the ring was and showed it to him.
Unfortunately, it wasn't the real Robbie who came to visit Omar and
by the time the fake Robbie saw the ring, he transformed into the
Chameleon and snatched the ring as the real Robbie, the Kingpin, the
Insidious Six, Spider-Man and the Destroyer arrived all at the same
time. As much to the surprise, the Whizzer, Miss America, the
Thunderer and especially as the surprise, the Black Marvel (after
Omar left) had appeared. Spider-Man and the five members of the Six
Forgotten Warriors fought the Insidious Six and Kingpin for the last
ring. Unfortunately, they stole the last ring and got away with it.
Spider-Man and the five other heroes met up on a building and the
Black Marvel revealed himself to be Omar. Everyone was surprised, as
everyone was told that Omar was merely the sidekick of the Black
Marvel, not the Marvel himself. Of course, Omar revealed he lied and
said that when the original Black Marvel was taken away by his
father, Omar replaced him and when the Six American Warriors age was
over, the Black Marvel was confirmed to have died.
Later on, Spider-Man, most of the members of the Six Forgotten
Warriors and the Wildpack appeared at the same time to prevent the
Doomsday Device from activating, but the Insidious Six and Kingpin
showed up, trapping them so they can activate the Device. But
surprisingly, the Chameleon puts on a gas mask and had a gas which
knocked out everyone but him in the room, also having them trapped
and when they woke up, Rhienholdt Kragov appeared, revealing that the
two have a relationship as stepbrothers who wanted their father, the
Red Skull, out for the last fifty years. They then activated the
vortex machine that Captain America and the Red Skull were trapped
in, having the Red Skull, who hadn't aged at all since he was
trapped, freed, which made a nice family reunion. The Red Skull then
freed Captain America, who also hasn't aged, and forced him to battle
a giant robot while Kragov, the Chameleon and the Red Skull set free
everyone else who was trapped in the room to help defeat the robot.
However, Spider-Man and Silver Sable followed the family of evil to
the Doomsday Device, having Spider-Man realize that Sable wasn't
really evil, but merely someone who wants the world cured of evil
like Spider-Man...

Six Forgotten Warriors, Chapter V: The Price of Heroism
Original Airdate: Friday, October 17, 1997
Spider-Man and Sable have finally tracked down Kragov, the Chameleon
and the Skull. Apparently, the Doomsday Device the Skull created in
the past was made to have his son, Rhienholdt, turn into a "god".
Kragov was injected with electricity which made him create and
manipulate electricity into doing his bidding. He wore a green suit
and a starbolt mask, calling himself Electro. He then used his power
to be under the Red Skull's control but instead betrayed him, doing
whatever he himself wanted. He had all of the world's electricity
controlled under his command on the top of a roof. Spider-Man and the
complete Six American Warriors confronted Electro, after defeating
the robot, but Mary Jane came to see what was happening. She was
struck and wounded by one of Electro's bolts, repeating a similar
incident in what happened to the Destroyer's wife, except the
Destroyer's wife was killed, whereas Mary Jane wasn't. MJ was shipped
to a hospital and Captain America told Spider-Man this is what
happens when he is a superhero. Spider-Man knew about this when he
was told by the Destroyer's story and continued to defeat the
Chameleon, the Red Skull and most importantly Electro. While Spider-
Man and Cap battled the Chameleon and the Red Skull, Electro became
so powerful that he actually destroyed S.H.I.E.L.D. In the end, as
Cap and the Skull still confronted each other, getting back into the
machine's vortex to be trapped yet again. Electro then came in to
kill Spider-Man in battle. But the superhero tricks the villain and
has him trapped in the machine where Cap and the Skull are. The world
was saved and the vortex machine was destroyed so the Red Skull and
Electro can never come out again, despite meaning that they will
never see Captain America again. The remaining members of the Six
American Warriors retired again and Peter Parker got his story on the
heroes.
While MJ was in the hospital, Spider-Man/Peter went to visit her,
telling her their honeymoon will soon come with no more delays.

Dynamite brokered the deal, hence their " production" credit.
I just wish this was inked the pencils only with muddy colors added is a huge turnoff even though I am buying it.

I'm still on the fence. I don't know if I want to commit to a year of
this or not. The Invaders are awesome and if this was just them, I'd
pounce on it. But the New Avengers drove me away from the Avengers
books, a habit of forty years, and I don't know if I want to plunge
back into that abyss all over again.

Trades might the most painless way to follow this. I can avoid the hype
and still get the story in a reasonably harmless way.
