I made my harvester from a laundry detergent bottle! That way it's hand
held and easy to pick out wormies that get mixed up in the castings!
It's easy, take a larger 96oz bottle either from your recycling bin or
a neighbor's, cut the bottle so only the sides and the handle is left;
use a sturdy hole punch to punch some holes in the sides to attach the
hardware cloth to the sides, & it's just that easy. I have pics in the
photo files of what the finished product looks like.
It's good to recycle those bottles & the handle makes it easy to shake
the castings free!

Have a simple set to build a drum harvester from wood and hard cloth. Built 1 with 1/4" screen to do the course sifting and 1 with 1/8" screen to screen out...

When I do a rough screening with the 1/4" tumbler, some of the worms do fall through, but most seem to hang onto the large chunks of compost that gets thrown...
