This fast, friendly, and capable FTP client is one of our
favorite apps. Transmit provides an exceptionally intuitive
interface with image previewing and extensive drag-and-drop
functionality. However, this program is more than just a
pretty face. Under the hood you'll find support for secure
transfers, batch downloads, automatic file-queuing, and long
filenames. Transmit also supports Rendezvous technology so
you can find local servers effortlessly. Our only complaint
is that the trial version only runs for 10 minutes at a
time, making it difficult to test large file transfers over
a slow Internet connection.

BGBlitz might be the best backgammon game we've played on
the Mac. You can play against the computer's skillful AI or
against an opponent at another computer. The graphics are
clean and satisfying, even with only the 2D top-down view,
but we would have liked the ability to play in a full-screen
mode. The tutor tells you if you've made a bad move and will
offer an option if you want it. We like the drag-and-drop
interface and the numerous features for honing our gameplay.
Overall, if you're a backgammon fan, this is the game for
you. With a strong AI, training aids, and tools to analyze
your matches, your game will improve dramatically while you
have fun.
