Hi Albert,
I agree that many people
accept/believe the five month doctrine just because Mr. Camping is teaching it,
the status quo. The status quo, ever so powerful among people…
It is baffling why many do
not seem to be even concerned whether the Bottomless Pit is opened up once or
twice. They do not seem to be concerned about the “green grass” that is present
during the five months. They don’t seem to think that these(and many, many,
many more) are important questions. It reminds me of my “battles” with people
during the church age over whether the rapture came at the beginning of the
Great Tribulation or at the end. They told me it was not important and to “just
be ready”. I told them that they would be taking a chance on being deceived
because the Church went apostate during the Great Tribulation. That did not
seem to faze them.
This five month doctrine is
as disheartening(because so many people believe in that doctrine) as Tim Le
Haye and Jerry Jenkins “Left Behind” movies/books. There is now a trailer for a
movie called “2012”, which is a movie about the end of the world based on the
Mayan Calendar. It used physical disaster as the device to bring on the end of
the world. There is this scene where this monk is ringing a bell atop a
mountain top. The idea of sounding a warning is probably something they stole
from the bible. Before the monk can get in all of his rings, the nearby
mountains began melting and he is overtaken in a flood. Again, destroying
mankind using this stuff is something they stole from the bible. Also, mankind,
when describing something HUGE, they say things like “of biblical proportions”.
Again all thefts from the Bible. But this time, I am not convinced of the world
ending in that way.
I also agree 100% with
using the “biblical calendar” because you are just comparing spiritual with
spiritual. But to get May 21 2011, you have to go outside the Bible, which I do
not think is a good thing. Why so many people believe this wholeheartedly, I do
not know. I suspect that when exposed to the many, many timepaths that point to
May 21, 2011, it is hard to NOT believe. But that tiny bit of secular data
causes the whole thing to fall like a house of cards, in my opinion. I think
the many timepaths that seem too numerous to be a coincidence could be a snare.
And you know what is weird?
That most of the people who say they believe in May 21 2011 will not liquidate
all their assets before that date to get the gospel out. If I believed 100%, I
would liquidate all my assets by that date to use to get the gospel out. There
are ways to do this and still have money to live on up until the last day.
Family Radio will not even do this. In my mind, people are “hedging their bets”
just in case it does not happen. After all, they will need something to live on
just in case…
I am not saying this to
poke fun. I am seriously saying that if I believed in that day 100%, I would
put my money where my mouth was, but for some reason I do not think that they
will do it.
(There are only a couple of
legitimate reasons not to do this-such as unbelieving spousal disagreements,
saving a little for emergencies, etc.) Because if the 5 month doctrine is true,
leaving money behind for your loved ones will not help them out in the
slightest….not even one iota.
I risked everything and
left everything behind when I left the Church. At the time, I felt that if I
was wrong, I was seriously
blaspheming the Holy Spirit and my eternal life would be forefeit. But I
did it anyway.
Yeah, Albert, I liked your
video. I also made a video using final cut pro. It is a satire on the End of
the Church Age with actors acting as Pastors and such. I want to post it on the
internet, but I have to check with an entertainment lawyer first because I used
real church signs(“Every Sunday is like happy hour here”, etc), church building
shots, fictitious names eerily similar to real life people/organizations(Pastor
Billy “freewilly” Jacobs, Pastor T.D. Moneybags), etc. I am sure that they would sue me
if they got the chance. I think I
am covered under the “fair use” statute, where you can use copyrighted material
if you are critiquing and organization, which I am. Plus, I took a lot of the
images from the street, which might be public domain.

I know were using the yahoo group Only the Bible now but I thought I'd answer Darrell's e-mail I haven't had internet in a month so I wasn't able to respond I hope Darrell see's this
Hi Darrell,
Well even if I was the only one questioning the calender (which I am not) just because there was no one else questioning it wouldn't mean im wrong for questioning it and should just take everyone's word on it because so many think that it is true. I'm just pointing this out because im afraid some give into doctrines just because a lot of people are teaching and believing it one big example of this is now the literal 5 months doctrine.
Well if there is a Biblical calender we know that if we arrive at this calender only by comparing spiritual things with spiritual it is God speaking to us only it is through His Word and is just as authoritative as when God literally spoke to Noah and Jonah. If we go by secular data and not just the Bible alone that is when it seems to me right now as going outside of the Bible and I guess I would consider that educated guesswork. I agree, we should be really careful like you said there already was one mistake in 1994.
I agree 100% we must compare spiritual things with spiritual as this is how God commands us to study His Word, it is true though God must reveal a truth to us as we could compare spiritual with spiritual all day long but if it's not the Lord's will for us to understand something at this time we will not.
"I also think it is wrong to say that if you do not believe in May 21, this means that you must love this present world and do not want it to end"
I agree this seems to be some sort of tactic as if it's to get someone to question themselves and say "well I better believe in May 21, 2011 I mean I don't want to love this present world" and I think there are people out there that think like this.
I was also not a listener in 1994, I was 7 years old :-D
I just use windows movie maker im sure you could buy software out there that would make way better videos maybe some day I'll do that Lord willing my Youtube Channel is http://www.youtube. com/user/ TheLawIsSpiritua l the one you probably saw was called the Furnace of Fire it's about how the churches are the furnace/oven etc..
Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
