T.E.E.C.H = 'Helping those less fortunate to create a better future for themselves'

TEECH www.teech.org is a UK registered charity since 1999 which takes aid to and carries out projects in Eastern Europe. TEECH stands for Telecom's Eastern European Challenge.

It all started in 1998 when a group of people who worked together at BT took up the challenge from a work colleague to help repair two hospitals in Bucharest. About 50 volunteers under the banner of BTL Aid travelled to Romania for a two week period in August and set about painting, plastering, lighting and generally making the two hospitals a cleaner, safer and brighter place.

Flushed with the success of this trip but seeing the need to be more structured, we organised ourselves into a proper registered charity and TEECH was born. We kept Telecom's in our name as so many of us worked for BT but we are a non BT organisation and totally independent.

TEECH now decides on a project and spends the year raising funds, items and takes its volunteers to the project for 2 weeks of hard work.
