The purpose of this group is to establish lines of communication between all people of the technical writing profession in Egypt. It is intended to help technical writers in Egypt share their experiences and exchange their ideas. As most of us know, technical writing may not be very familiar to many people in the software industry in Egypt; and by "familiar" I don't mean "known", I mean understood, appreciated, and formalized. The long-term objective of this group is to build a knowledge base that will hopefully lead the way to formalizing and standardizing this profession in Egypt.

If you are a technical writer, a wannabe technical writer, a person in the IT industry, or just someone interested to know more about this profession in Egypt, feel free to join our group.

Topics discussed in this group are not only limited to technical writing-related issues. We also discuss any issues related to content authoring and content management, including copywriting and copyediting.

On the career building side, we also want this group to help people looking for good opportunities in the field of technical writing find good job vacancies. We want employers to turn to this group whenever they need to hire a technical writer, a copywriter, or an editor.

We plan to survey salaries and financial compensations in order to familiarize everyone with the appropriate standards for evaluating a job opportunity, given the huge salary discrepancies in nowadays IT community in Egypt.
