I hope everyone enjoyed the bottles of hope project, there were some very nice
and clever bottles, I hope you all finished the ones you were working on and
continued to make extras, I'd like you to bring in all that were made so we can
post them on our web site, it would be nice to up date some of the pics from our
projects. OK..., NOW.., For September, we'll be working on a Kathleen Dustin
style project, some of you have seen the bead I brought in awhile back with the
red, yellow, black and white stripes and the transfer face, this is the type of
work we'll be doing. Michael's has Premo clay on sale this week 4 for $5, so
stock up. You'll be needing a core for this bead, you can use scrap clay, but I
suggest using the Ultra Lite Sculpey, to cut down on the weight, it may be kind
of pricey but it goes a long way, Michael's has it about $2 cheaper than
Joann's. You will also need a good amount of scrap clay in colors that are
complementary to one another, on my bead I used, green, yellow, orange and a
little bit of white, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE THESE COLORS, be creative, you will
need Black clay, White clay, and Three Bars of Translucent, and maybe two other
colors of you choice, These colors will be for the stripes. You will also need
some image transfers on T-shirt transfer paper for black T-shirts, images of
your choice for your bead, unfortunately I'm in the process of moving so I won't
be able to supply the transfers this time. You should also have a potato peeler
for this project, the type Dan Cormier uses in his projects or one similar.
There is going to be allot of work to this project, so please have all your clay
conditioned prior to the meeting except for the scrap clay, and don't forget
your normal clay tools. See you in September and be ready for a busy day.
