This page is a support group for Post-Adoptive Parents of children from the Texas Baptist Home. This page is managed by a board of Adoptive Parents contacted by "TBH" as they saw a need for this group to be formed. We as the "Adoption Alumni Association" hope that this will be a helpful tool that we can all use to help us bond as an extended family and keep in touch throughout the year between Adoption Reunions.
It also can be helpful to know that someone else knows the struggles you may be facing as an Adoptive Family, whether it's legal, financial or spiritual. We all know there are stresses that can be associated with the Private or CPS adoptions. I personally have been through both a Private Infant Adoption and the Adoption of a 2 year old through CPS. As not everyone has the same experiences, it can be helpful to someone struggling when you share your helpful information or encouragement with someone who needs it.
None of us want to, or think to go to the Baptist Home when we are in need of help. After all their job was done when they placed these little blessings into our families, right? Well, I can assure you that if you need help "TBH" is still there for you. I have seen how much they care for these children and I promise that their love doesn't stop at placement. You can see it in their eyes at the Adoption Reunion every year. They love to see them growing up in the homes God had planned for them. God says in His word "For I know the plans I have for you, to prosper and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jer. 29:11
By the way, if you haven't been joining in on the Adoption Reunion each year, you are missing out on a wonderful blessing and a chance to bond with more members of your "TBH" family.
